#adding friends

hey guys,

since the migration i've had issues trying to play with my partner, before that I've always just played with bots so it was never really apparent until recently. We tried adding each other and playing about a month ago, and tried again recently after the updates but we are still having impossible issues.

Problem: I added him but its stuck on waiting to accept friend request, he hasn't received it. He tried to add me, however I haven't received it. My sent request is just stuck there. I can't cancel it, I can't block it. It's like any communication to the server is blocked (unlikely, but the best way to describe it).

What I've tried to fix it:
Googling, some with similar issues but no fixes. Verifying integrity of game files. Re-installing the game. Adding from the app instead. Creating a new account. None of these have worked.

If anyone is familiar with a fix I would really appreciate it! Unfortunately, playing with friends is a no go for me, at all. Same for him. If there's no current fix, is there a way I can report this bug? This feature seems to be missing from the game, or I'm blind.

The only real fix i have found for that was modding the game and playing on the development or qa servers of the game but that is against TOS 😅

And you need the Steam version for that

  • for every different server you play on you need to create a new account, so you also need either mod your gold or you just play with no expansions

My guess is just that their backend isnt coded well enough to scale to the amount of players this game gets
