These guys have 'arranged it' so well that it is almost unplayable! nothing works anymore, you gain points when you lose, and you lose points when you win, it takes you out of the game for no reason at any time and of course it decreases your elo and karma, at the end of the game it usually freezes and doesn't show your score and rank players, if a player leaves the game for various reasons, the game restarts several times and in the end it gives you all kinds of errors. As I said, it's a real nightmare and I don't see any chance of being able to play normally anytime soon, at least not while these guys are 'repairing'.

Honestly, not experiencing any of that at all when I play at the moment.
We might be playing different game modes, so its probably not a fair comparison for me to just say that. I'm playing via PC/Steam, running the base game, typically it ends up being The First Island, sometimes Harbormaster, occasionally Ore for Wool. The only problems I've personally experienced recently is when the UI disappears and you get kinda stuck not being able to then progress or quit.
The end of game does often seem to have a delay before the ranking appears. In nearly all cases, if I wait, it appears. Sometimes this is just a matter of seconds (but obviously feels longer), I think I've had two scenarios so far where it hasn't appeared at all, and I was then expecting the Continue button to just make the UI disappear and I'd be stuck again. On one of those occasions that was true, on the other, to my surprise, the UI to appear (e.g. the summary of all three players - in my 3 player game).
I've not noticed any significant issues with ELO since the changes in the last week which now have been with different prestige ratings again (e.g. not all GMs or Bronze). I dont typically worry too much about the ELO (e.g. not the reason I play), but each time someone else has won, they seem to have gained ELO, whilst myself and the other player may have lost some, that seems to depend on a few factors. If a player leaves, they just baseline on the summary at 0 for their delta. Sometimes I may come second but gain a 0.2 ish kinda value. Sometimes I lose some, seems to depend largely on the ELO of the other players. But it feels more like it was before all the problems.
Just to add to my reply above, I've just played a game, 3 players, The First Island.
I came second. The summary showed that all players were Platinum. The guy that won lost around 10 ELO, I gained 8 ELO for second place, the guy that came third gained 2 ELO. So on the size of it, that does look broken. One thing with this I noted on this occasion, both the winning player, and the player that came third had no Karma stars at all. I had all 5. Not sure if this is factored in at all with the ELO caluclation @terse cosmos, but it seemed like the only thing, from the data presented, that would explain it.
Winner had 1129 ELO, I had 1158, third place had 1152. So we were all roughly in the same bracket.
I honestly don't know what game you're talking about.... in no case is it about catan! the game is practically unplayable!
If I'm bored enough tomorrow, and have enough disc space, I'll screen record a game and upload it to YouTube... hopefully that'll clear up any misunderstandings about what game I'm referring to.
Here you go... I played this evening.
For reference, I'm in the UK, played at 22:20 (ish), playing on PC/Steam. The Base Game / The First Island. 3 Players.
Managed to get one of the other players to mention which platform they were on, they were playing on iOS. As you'll see in the video, there was a slightly longer than desirable matching making process on this occasion (30 seconds), but we are talking seconds really here. Typically I'm finding that process is shorter than on this occasion, not always, but typically.
Player turns, town placement, trading, playing development cards, the robber, the win condition, all of these features worked without issue.
Around the middle of the game both of the other players seemingly experienced a little lag on their turns (I circled the turn timer bottom right a couple of times), maybe this was my connection? But again this was only for a few seconds and then their turns resumed, turn-timer rolled back etc, and this used to occur pre-migration.
Post game, on this occasion I did experience the rank not appearing issue, I waited for 2 minutes, I could have waited longer but was conscious I was recording this also. I hit the Continue button, and of course, no UI, so had to hard-close the game. This does occur for me, but it is quite rare now, on most occasions my rank does appear, often delayed, it kinda "pops" into place. Sometimes I have to wait for what feels like ages, although I doubt it ever gets to a minute in reality.
Despite that issue at the end, we had a game that lasted for around 20+ minutes, problem free, and it was enjoyable (perhaps not for purple who got robbed a lot, sorry). Having to close/restart the game isn't ideal, but not really a massive issue for 20+ minutes of enjoyable gameplay, and sure it will be fixed.
The video, if you want to watch it (would suggest playing at a quicker playback speed, unless you also have 20+ minutes spare 🙂 )
