but I really think people need to do their research before saying anything. dbd still works just fine and behaviour uses the paid version. fortnite doesn't need to pay for the paid version since they're owned by the same company, but i assure you that it isn't free. and dbd is configured to run on shadow pc in their own personal settings btw, fortnite is not.

but it's stated on their interface page that if you purchase eac's full version, you will get a version of eac completely configured to your game and how you want the settings/everything to function. meaning vrchat could fix this if they just coughed up the cash.

It took me a while to shake the stockholm syndrome, but eventually i just said screw it and moved to Chillout, i did end up leaving everyone i knew behind, exept for one, but honestly. it was a worthy sacrifice for me

ChilloutVR is a optimised and friendly alternative platform, But it IS still early in development, so its still suffering growing pains

Resonite is another neat platform, but they do have performance issues due to the complex nature of their engine

the only shadow alternative that works in VRC that i have seen is Nvidia's GeForce Now

but VR support is non existant

i joined here to show people there is alternatives to VRChat that are just as good, if not better in many circumstances, since i was once a vrc player, and i was hooked on them with cope for years before finally giving up

ultimately, vrchat will never get better, they are publicly traded and the investors make the executive decisions

they are also operated by known predators and have rampant issues of mis spending their funding

ive talked to many who were or still are on their inside and its rotten to its very core

i know how difficult leaving a platform your so engrained on can be, but even dipping your toes in the water on other platforms is a step in seeing what VRChat Could have been if it cared

none of the competitors are a 100% glove fit, and they never will be, but they have something unique to themselves, and honestly more competition in the VR social space would drive VRChat to actually better itsself

since right now they have a complete monopoly

it has a crippling lack of players, meaning at times there can be litterally nobody online in public lobbies.
the community is small, so sometimes drama can spread hard, but its usually over pretty quick.
development is slow, but thats due to the devs working for free, and part time.
theres also not much in terms of game worlds due to the scripting being rather basic right now

basically all of those are addressable with both time, and people giving it a chance

right now, we mostly get people showing up and saying they will come back when theres more players, which effectively makes a "snake eating its own tail" problem

people do want to come over, which is always nice, there just needs to be a push

porting is easy, you do need to do some work to port obviously, but if your using something like Poiyomi shaders, it should look litterally identical
