I don't think its VRChats fault (unless you argue it doesn't need anti-cheat), I don't think its the fault of my games devs either.

This is Epic's fault blocking VMs and Shadow need to be in discussions with them.

If VMs have been on the hit list for a while then Shadow probably should have been more proactive.

Saying that, Epic are going to do what they do and they don't have to care about Shadow or what Shadow think.

Sucks but if Shadow don't work something out, it's going to get worse and theres no point having a Shadow for a cloud gaming PC.

VRChat choose to use EAC and put themselves in a position to not be able to control what they do, so by lack of care, they are partially to blame.

They won't be until they hear it from a larger base. If the majority of their players are fine, they're unlikely to treat it with much attention.
Can just say it's "not a supported setup", which is the route they've gone for. Devs can't always support every setup type. It sucks of course for us.

From their point of view they haven't made a change, but could have worded it much better I agree.

Removing EAC and replacing with something will be dev work and any work has to be justified, approved, again we maybe too small/niche a group to matter, cost wise.

No guarantee it won't stop working later like other games.

Unless they put in their own code to overwrite this VM check (if even possible).

If your only use of Shadow is VRChat, then there's realistically no point paying to wait and hope imho. But of course Shadow is a PC, so other than those Games/Applications with VM blocks there's much you can do with it.. It all comes down to your own usecase/budget.

They need to fix it. I don't have the environment for a pc setup. Shadow is literally my only way to enjoy vrc. Quest Standalone is tolerable but my quest 2 is struggling with the game and crashes a lot. Chill out vr just doesn't have the player count. Feels like we are praying for a miracle with this eac issue though.

I don't think it's VRChat's fault either, yes are they using the Easy Anti-Cheat to protect themselves from hackers and whatever else, but it is mostly because of EAC that's causing this issue, people are able to get on but offline mode so in the way VRChat still works on Shadow, just can't be online.

I tried AirGPU and it works... interesting find is that the AirGPU system also detects a hypervisor but EAC works with it. ShadowPC shows the same hypervisor detection but it doesn't work. I hope they fix this soon.

Idk of anyone said this before I think I have but like why not have shadow limit what you can and can’t do like downloads you can download cheats or certain clients bc shadow was probably blocked bc people where abusing the freedom that comes within shadow and if limiting what its users can download or use wouldn’t it prompt the eac and epic to allow shadow as an acceptable VMs ? Because if limiting shadows space in what you can and can’t download or put on it would make it safer and more acceptable for gaming and stuff right

You need to understand how Shadow isn't the problem here: they didn't block us deliberately because of cheaters

People will always find ways to cheat, VM or not. Unfortunate as it is. Best solution is just whitelisting Shadow, the Anticheat can scan for specific Shadow markers than only Shadow devs can incorporate. (Probs a lot more in depth, but that's the gist of it)

Guys the only way shadow would be able to put their foot down on people using their platform for cheating or avoiding certain bans is if the person slips up n mentions it. Other then that since they don't 100% monitor each vm they can't do anything unless the law is broken
