Reset how exactly? - The first time?

If you did via Windows, that's incorrect as it won't re-install Shadow component software needed for the stream.

Side note, when it says Error on reset via the VM management, it's due to not being stopped.

Now it’s saying available for update but when I try to let it update it says update in progress and then closes out

Then something is going wrong on the Shadow that is stopping updates occurring, you can try the Repair.

But one thing at a time

To get a proper picture of what happened, the first image is after you said you Reset the Shadow. However, there's icons on the desktop so can't have been straight after a reset 🤷‍♂️

Okay so the Application itself isn't updating properly.. Okay follow these steps.

Uninstall the Shadow app then -

How to clear the app cache on macOS:

Shift + Cmd + G
~/Library/Caches
Delete all the Shadow files
Restart your computer
Download the launcher again - As in a fresh installer from the Shadow website or #🔗┃links

Right okay, issue a shutdown via the help panel.. Close the app, go to your VM Management webpage. Make sure the VM status is Stopped, if it isn't shutdown from there and refresh till it says Stopped, then issue the Reset again. It would inform you that the reset process has started with an estimated time for completion.

It tells that it's started and how long it takes. Typically 30-60mins. During that time the VM status is maintenance and on the app will say G-468

It may switch between running and maintenance. Just leave it a total of an hour from when you started the reset and check. Once back to Ready to launch it should be done.

That cumulative update is broken and runs into errors - that is not a Shadow-related problem. Just skip it for now. It is an early version and you are still up to date without it so far.

For FiveM that shouldn't be related to that update as well. Install latest NVIDIA drivers (game ready version).

FiveM using Mumble and Shadow have ALWAYS had issues. Most of the time the mic is all robotic, you will need to Disable and Re-Enable the Shadow microphone each time you connect to a server.

As for any PREVIEW updates for Windows. Yes stay clear! This one in particular if you were able to install it would mean resetting your Shadow. #🔧┃known-issues
