Since yesterday, my Shadow Launcher has been trying to update my Shadow, but during the update process, it always says “Update failed” without any error code. When I click “Continue”, I can access my Shadow, but I can’t use my peripherals. However, if I try to restart the update, it fails again — no matter how many times I try.

Launcher Version: v4.72.4
Subscription: Power
Display: Single-screen setup
Resolution: 1920x1080 at 100 Hz

The issue occurs on all devices, regardless of the network connection.

Datacenter: FRSBG01 (Germany 🇩🇪)
ISP at home: O2 – 100 Mbps down / 40 Mbps up
Mobile ISP: Telekom 5G – 300 Mbps down / 50 Mbps up (iPhone)
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit (22H2)

If retrying, even after like 10 times still fails, your options are the Repair button in the help section of the app (takes about 40 mins) then if this doesn't solve it, contact Shadow Support.

I found a solution for me

#

I made a full backup of c:\ to d:\ and did a reset on it. After the reset, i can just load the backup and it works like new.
