and also, is it possible to make it so the shadowpc never turns off?
i got this message, but i have the setting turned off
- It should stay logged in via your token.
- You can contact Shadow for an always-on quote.
Which token? Every time i start up my pc, it maeks me login via browser. Is it supposed to save?
Also is there an actual limit to how long the shadow pc stays on for? If I stayed connected and active for 24hrs, it wouldnt shut down right?
No, there's no limit, but bypass automatic shutdown ( which is dynamic - it depends of the load of the datacenter in that moment- from 30 minutes to hours ) Shadow can ban the account.

with the pro tiers there is an always on option on the website, but its very very very expensive.
The client should remember you and shouldnt need always browser login
you could try login using your default browser, or could try completly reinstall the client (uninstall, manually delete any left over file and do a clean install)
Do you know how that would measured? Like if i was exporting a video and it took 8hrs, but i was actually online the entire time and just moving my mouse around or something like that, would that count as avoiding detection?
Shadow is very good at determining what is normal use, and what is abuse.
so I would strongly advise you to do something normal on your Shadow while rendering.
But rendering isnt considered "normal activity?"
It is.
So wdym to do "something normal" on Shadow while rendering? Will simply rendering and leaving it finish not be considered normal activity?
It's normal but no input = auto shutdown
Move the mouse around, next press some buttons, open a browser etc
Not something bot like same button every 5 mins clockwork
Realistically, i wouldn't be sitting there for 8 hours periodically moving my mouse every 5m or something like that. In that case, would it be fair to use something to do it for me or would that still be against the rules? I would simply be rendering/uploading videos in the background.
That would be against the ToS. When you want to have Shadow 24/7 then you can have a Pro tier and enable 'always on'. But this is much more expensive
I see
is is possible to change the default save location
For that process ^
Its saving to my C: drive but i want to save it to my D:
Im a bit confused still. Does this mean at any random time, even if I'm not idle, it can shut down?
if no user input for 30 min, yes
but as long you actually use the VM with any type of inputs (via the official client) it will stay on
Would watching a youtube video be considered "using it"
Or would it still require some inputs every 30m?
input
shadow cant see if you are actually at your desk or just launched a 10h long cat video
True, just trying to figure out exactly how the system works so I dont get banned on accident
