It's related to the mic capture method and how games and apps are requesting access to it (exclusive mode)
So I can’t completely fix it?
I don't think so
Do you maybe habe an USB mic? If yes have you tried ShadowUSB?
yes its usb and where do i find that?
You can install ShadowUSB in Shadow launcher on settings tab (controller and USB). When you've installed this you can start Shadow and activate the USB mic in Shadow overlay (controller and USB tab). Maybe this works better for you
Side note, they said they’re also experiencing stuttering and lag. I’m leaning towards a network issue being a root.
This?
Yeah there you've still installed ShadowUSB. So you could look in Shadow overlay if your mic appears. If yes click / enable the mic
You could try
my mic has never worked properly on Shadow
i did that it still messes my mic up its so random too but v annoying
Then I also think what G - Sparse said. For mics and other USB devices it's necessary to have a good latency, a very low jitter, no packet loss, enough upload bandwidth and a stable connection.
I mean is this bad?
Yeah definitely
Extreme packet loss and sometimes a higher Latency
Additionally 4 ms from your router to your local device should be 1 ms
it didnt say that when i read it said should be under 10 or something
i cant get my router any closer so
I knew it. Your connection quality is tanked. That's why nothing works. Packet loss should be 0%
well for it being tanked it works fine everyday i play my game on here the only issue is mic sometimes so....and the stuttering after the shadowpc came back...
1ms for ethernet, <5ms for wifi is ok/normal
now to find out if your latency/packet loss is related to network or something else first, so better try fully wired and give all details required for debug as detailed here : https://discord.com/channels/460948857304383488/1210660461457051758
wym fully wired and its 4ms now i use ethernet
ethernet only should gives you 1ms on local device to local router or there's something wrong
what could be wrong?
It’s Ethernet directly to your main router, right? No mesh network, no WiFi repeaters with Ethernet ports on them, etc.
the main is downstairs this is the second one thats upstairs cause initially in my room wifi ws poor
Repeater gotta go
If ur using it
Might bring WiFi to the whole house but slows it down.
So you’re not connected via Ethernet direct to main router. If there’s a wireless connection between the main router and what you’re connected to you’re not on a wired connection, you’re still technically on a wireless connection.
You can’t say it’s gotta go. I can’t bring the Wi-Fi from downstairs upstairs so that’s why we got the second but ok
Wifi is wireless. So not sure what you mean by bringing the wifi from downstairs.. Anyways.. The repeater you're using might be the issue. What is it you're plugged into?
I meant the main router. Wym?
What is your ethernet cable plugged into and how is that device connected to the main router?
Like what product is it?
basically yes
So basically do a Speedtest and say what is your internet speed download and upload
WiFi Repeaters are not recommended on Shadow.
how i do a speedtest and with all due respect im working with what i can recommended or not i dont actually have a choice so...
just look up Speedtest on yo computer 😭
