I’m not using H265 encoding. I’m directly ethernet into my router and I’m not streaming anything on my PC besides shadow

I have my stats set to an hour and although still not desirable I'm not having anywhere near the same lag that you are on USPOR01. These spikes are probably 15 minutes apart. (33ms is normal for me, otherwise)
We have a guide for tracing your connection to and from Shadow PC. https://wiki.shdw.info/w/PingPlotter
You can follow this guide and post screenshots of the results, and maybe someone can take a look.
PingPlotter is an application by PingMan Tools for troubleshooting network issues and easily visualizing latency and packet loss issues.
Me to shadow
Shadow to me
I may not be a network engineer, but it looks like the problem is my provider
Avg 5.5 for 1st hop (to your router) is pretty high. Should be under 1ms. Give your router a reboot see if helps
could it be that your ethernet cable is damaged?
did you try with 5ghz wifi?
I don’t know how it could be damaged because a couple months ago was working fine
Though just recently there was like a couple times where there was a full outage
Someone was nice enough to cut the wires that fed the neighborhood
It’s even more unstable on the 5 GHz Wi-Fi
Today it seems to be a lot better. Maybe parts of my ISP was overloaded?
nvm its back
So now I’m having packet loss between my router and computer
I’m starting to think maybe it’s my ISP router
I’ve tested over WiFi and Ethernet
What kind of router do you have, out of curiosity? I mean it's been working for this long, so I kind of doubt it's hardware, but we have had issues with the Puma chipset, specifically...
It’s the white trash can looking router. I hope this helps
Later on today I'm going to try replacing my router I think that's the problem
You’ve nailed it on the head with your analysis. Definitely something funky going on with your local setup.
They recommended that a technician takes a look but they want to charge me like 300 for it
So found out using a vpn somewhat helps
Alright uh I used my friends USB modem as a usb c eithernet card and it’s still reporting packet loss between my computer and the modem and then the modem and and router
Alright problem is mine. My WiFi card is ass. my ethernet adapter on my motherboard is dead. For now I’m using a salvaged good wireless card on my desktop and it’s working rather well
an usb ethernet adapter should work too
I thought USB ethernet adapters were bad
No, USB ethernet adapters can be very good 🙂 I also use one for my laptop
