After reset, still same issue happening R-0x40000015
just to add again, have tried updaing my gpu, still have same issue
run a sfc scan on your local drive and pray its not your disk failing
0x40000015 is most often corrupt systemfile (well in reality unhandled application faults, but tis related)
Just running one now, but SFC wouldnt tell me if my disk is failing? its for repairing system files? Its verified 100% though.
Gonna try check disk
Tried:
SFC: No issues
DISM: No issues
CHKDSK: No issues
CrystalMark (Disk Health): No issues
Resetting Shadow PC entirely
Updating windows local
Updating GPU local
Complete removal + beta client
Windows 11
and what hardware ?
mm that should work flawless. very wierd
have you tried reinstalling the shadow client, (and removing the data directory) ?
Only other mention i found of it was this post from Feb: https://discord.com/channels/460948857304383488/1209683629576425552
They are not able to start it AT ALL though, where as mine runs for a random amount of time and then crashes.
Yes, complete removal and also tried beta client. Same issue
did you remove the ".shadow" folder
Not manually, appdata?
Trying this now. Crashes are random so will update after some testing. Sometimes its within 30 minutes sometimes can be hours before it happens.
next time it happens, check event viewer, it will contain more detail why
Yeah, I went to check it earlier but left it too long and couldnt figure out exact times. On my list to do straight away
Thanks
Update from support @meager birch :
It looks like the frame queue for the Shadow launcher is getting full, so when it needs to clear the queue, you then experience it as lagging or crashing.
Suggestion:
To resolve this, could you please try manually setting the framerate limit to 60 FPS in the video settings of the Shadow launcher? If that does not resolve the issue, then please continue decreasing the framerate in 10 FPS intervals until performance stabilizes.
Any idea on increasing the frame queue?
frame queue is something else. You can't increase it. Could you share your metrics sorted on 10 mins out of curiosity.
Frame queue record your lost frames, but when it get too many, the renderer is not able to send them back to you and you crash. Could be your local GPU having hard time or something else but try what support told.
PS: not exactly sure how it works, but that's how I interpret it
try ffmpeg as local decoder in shadow launcher settings
By metrics what exactly do you mean, metrics from where. After chatting to someone else they suggested changing the "Maximum pre-rendered frames" thrugh Nvidia inspector to 2 instead of the default.
This change alonside the 60fps change seems to have no crashes yet, but then again ive had 10 hours of no crashed then loads. So cant say its fixed yet
feel free to update what steps you did to solve it so that if anyone in the future has similar issue maybe can get it resolved fast by searching the section 🙂
I will do, just want to be 100% first that no more issues
First crash with same issue since 17th, so defo better but still crashing...
Crashed like 30 times today R-116
r116 is network related (tcp timeout)
Its a mixture of this and the original error in the title
send me in DM your latests shadow.log and make a log code and post it here (from launcher help pane, send log icon)
Just done some more investigating, it appears shadow is default to using integrated graphics, have switched it to dedicated to see if that has any effect.
Will do thanks
Where do i get the actual file from please
LGPPVR
should be in your user home directoery hidden folder called .shadow
Even after changing shadow to use dedicated still got the error
you have any QoS configured on your network ? local / router side ? can you give full details of your network setup, internet service provider, etc ?
model and brand of the network card ?
as it could also be many things, would be nice to test :
- another network card
- another network cable (as it could be the cable itself)
- if using wall plugs (maybe verify wiring of wall plug and other side)
- make sure you are using direct connection (local to router (no meshed network/repeater/powerline)
also, are you using drag & drop feature for file transfer (in both side) ? is it happening during a drag & drop session (initiating filetransfer or ongoing one) ?
Intel Wirless-AC 9260 160MHz, using Virgin as provider.
Normally using Ethernet, tried using wireless and also tried using another network by using hotspot from my phone both wireless and tethered.
Tried a different cable.
Drag and drop works without fail never had an issue with that.
All still produce the same issues
Support said previously frame queue for the Shadow launcher is getting full
but no idea how to avoid that happening, they suggested turning frames down by 10fps incrementals but thats really not a fix
Well you could try for queue full :
- shadow beta
- update local GPU driver
- reduce to 1920x1080 if using higher resolution
- reduce bitrate to <35Mbit/s
- cap framerate to 60 in game
Tried all of them and i still get the same errors. None of it makes any sense
Hey does anyone have a fix for that, i have the same problem since 6-7 days.
