#Have a original Voron that I haven't used in a long time

Hey guys I really need some help in getting my Voron fully working and up to date. Love how far this community has grown when I built my original V2 at release I always had issues with first layer adhesion/leveling. I ultimately just kinda shelved the Voron for a few years. Came back and did the upgrade to 2.4 and SKR 1.3 and put in a mosquito hotend. I got my 2.4 kit from Doc so I know the parts were well made I put everything together and I get decent bed adhesion sometimes but still stuff seems off with it.

I know i have checked my frame for square as well as the bed flatness with a mechanist square.

What upgrades do I need to look at doing at this point? I think I'm still using the old red bed level sensor that relied on detecting the metal itself during the z level process. I remember also upgrading the SKR firmware and changing from OctoPrint to another web based PI controller/ui. Can't remember the name of it and I'm working to power everything up now.

What things should I look at asap to get my printer up to date and working? Willing to take any advice as there is so much here now I have no idea where to start anymore LOL My build plate is 350mm not sure that matters. I did find a clicky probe magnet set in a bag that I must have bought right before I bought my house and the printer was packed up for good for a few years.. if this is still a solid sensor to use let me know as I seem to have a big bag of printed parts as well as the clicky in a smaller box.

Upgrades - i imagine this has the old dual x rail system and afterburner on it? That will dictate the majority of what you can do as more modern stuff is focused on a single x rail system.

Toolhead refresh, hotend refresh and probe refresh would all be worth considering.

sitting that long, it is might worth looking at the belts to make sure they have not deteriorated? Trust but verify and all that.

I don't think anything else could have "aged" poorly. I would definitely check the linear rails to make sure they are still ok. probably need regreasing? maybe? make sure there's no rust anywhere?

Does anyone have an easy to find list of the printed parts I would need for hotend remake + 2.4R2 upgrade?

I don't think I have my original list of printed parts and what changed hence why I'm asking.

“i want to move to 2.4r2” is also a slightly diffent discussion than “i just want to update my x axis to support mgn12/stealthburner” - sounds like that might be more of what you’re after?

Well I would argue that the 2k that I already spent on the printer was a pretty big expense and waste of money to never have a printer that can print better than my MonoPrice select plus 😄 that is why I'm giving the Voron one last chance to try to get things a bit more dialed in. I spent a ton of money and my options are either upgrade it and get it back to working, or throw the Voron away and with a v.0150 serial that seems a bit ridiculous based on how early of an adopter I was 😄

I'm actually installing the PCB Klicky kit I have right now to see if I can get it working better, and then decide what I'm going to do from there.

I think a huge issue is the PL08 🙂 .. certainly the easiest thing to try would be retofitting in pcb Klicky being you already have all the parts for it!
