#Layer shifts out of nowhere.

I recently finished building my 2.4r2 self sourced with tap and canbus.

Still working on tuning it but print quality has been amazing so far, now out of nowhere iam getting loads of minor layer shifts and even some mayor layer shift and a good amount of stringing, what do i need to do to get it back up and running normally.
Nothing has been changes in the settings.

How was it oriented on the bed?

Both times the long side visible in the pic was facing towards the front of the printer

So if the shift was diagonal that can point to drive/belt issues.

X or Y shift can be harder to track down, often relates to print artefacts causing a nozzle strike.

Were there any particular feature changes in the model at that height?

Also i noticed the first failed print looked beter then the second one

First on the left second on the right

#

Nothing has changed in settings or anything

#

Also here first one on the left second one on the right

The right one looks like there was a lot of stringing going on before the major layer shifts. The left one looks pretty clean.

I think it will still be worth checking over your XY/AB motion system- motor pulley grub screws, belt tension, printed parts damage etc.

Also go over toolhead and hotend, make sure nothing loose and nozzle appropriately hot tightened.

Ill also check out all printed parts and beld tensions and stuff

Yea i removed it from the mounts to ease working on jt

#

I changed the hotend now and fixed the old one so i now have a spare hahah

And it seems to he solved now, i think the nozzle got unset and hot the print

#

So i guess its solved now 😅 my best guess is i was being stupid and only hand tightened the nozzle and i was just lucky the first 40 hours of print time

Thanks! trying to diagnose my similar issue and was curious what the cause for yours was
