Running into an issue right now where the first layer squishes a lot more on the left side of my bed than the right. Currently testing by just printing a one layer strip from one side to the other on the x axis. I'm using a beacon for mesh bed leveling, and there were some dumb mistakes in the config, but as far as I can tell, everything there should be fixed. In any case, it seems like BED_MESH_CALIBRATE is doing its job, but is under compensating. Any ideas?
#`BED_MESH_CALIBRATE` is under compensating

Can you please send your klipper log, a picture of your bed mesh, and a picture of your printer as it is right now
At this point I'm thinking this is something gantry related, but not sure what to actually do. I don't really want to do a ton of re-tightening on the gantry if I can avoid it
can you confirm that during a print, the bed mesh is visible on the "heightmap" tab of mainsail and that the number above the z coordinate is changing as the toolhead moves around the build plate? this value is the z coordinate after the bed mesh has been applied
yep, I also disabled the mesh in my print_start and confirmed that it was actually doing something
the range of 0.1333 isn't awful, and something that bed mesh should be able to compensate for
what tensions do you have for your z belts?
ok i just went through this exact same issue, andi dont wanna butt in, but it ended up being my motor shaft being bent ( i had my tensions way to high, and were not double sheered)
Just something to take a peak at anyway 🙂
the A/B belts are like ~2.25 each, they're evenly tensioned, probably a little high though
i asked about your z belts 😉
a/b belts should be between 1.8 and 2.2
i am blind, just retuned them and they should be even, let me actually get a read though
around 2.8
on the higher end, but ok
if you request the z axis to move, say 100mm up, do all for corners move the same amount?
looks like it
looks like is different from actual measurements 😜
can't really measure super well with the belts in the way but they seem very even
let me see if i can get some better actual numbers
they measure even
I haven't noticed any issues on small, taller prints, this is isolated to first layers on the left/right sides of the bed
just at a glance I'm not noticing anything wrong with the ab motors shafts, what did that look like for you?
When moving the axes back and forth, the idler wobbled ... could visibly see it
ah ok i dont think i was seeing anything like that
poking around the config and im at a loss, im still assuming it's gantry stuff, but i feel like i just don't know what im looking for at this point
Ok something I just noticed is that the a/b belts seem to shift up and down slightly as I move back and forth on the x axis
is anything edging out of its path? like is anything riding up on the edge of an idler anywhere, or anything like that?
oh, looking at your original issue, sounds like gantry twist
if your x axis twists, it changes the relationship between the probe and the actual nozzle (by rolling the toolhead)
which then results in the type of left vs right behavior you're describing
you can test with klipper's axis-twist-compensation module to see if I'm right
ok yeah im seeing way more sane results with my test print, i think i need a little more fine tuning but this was probably it thank you!
im probably just gonna leave this software fix on for the time being, but is there anything i can do about it from a hardware standpoint in the future?
Swapping out the x axis extrusion for one that isn’t twisted is the actual hardware fix most of the time. Nothing really wrong with using twist comp though, especially if it’s only a small twist
