I have a very strange issue with the led_effect plug-in. If I am using any kind of effect my Z motion sounds like it's missing steps, I had a very long strip of LEDs (143) so I took it down to 18 and it still happens. If I set a solid color, the Z noises go away. Has anyone else seen this before? I can get a video if needed.

a video may help
If any LED connected to my Octopus is running a "fancy" macro (not a static color), then the Z makes that noise. The Dragonburner LEDs don't have the same impact, but those are run off of the EBB36.
what wattage is your psu?
500w, but I have the LEDs powered off of the 5v. This happens if they are powered off of the Octopus, too.
you have both a 24v psu and a 5v psu?
Yes, I've tried 2 different 5v, and as well as just running directly off of the Octopus. This will happen with only 1 LED.
and have you tied the -ve of both power supplies together?
Yes, originally it wasn't, but trying to fix this I did. I've also tried running the Pi off of an AC adapter without any 5v PSU for the LEDs, just ran the one LED off of the Octopus
ok, you might want to try asking in #voron_electronics where the electrical gurus hang out, it's not something i've ever seen before
