Voron 2.4 LDO Kit Rev. C
Cube printed with these settings:
[input_shaper]
shaper_freq_x: 49.0 # center frequency for the X axis filter
shaper_type_x: mzv # filter type for the X axis
shaper_freq_y: 33.2 # center frequency for the Y axis filter
shaper_type_y: mzv # filter type for the Y axis
damping_ratio_x: 0.067 # damping ratio for the X axis
damping_ratio_y: 0.082 # damping ratio for the Y axis
from these graphs:
Printed with Pink Panchroma PLA at 220°/40°
these seem to be broken but i don't know i should reprint them or exchange them for a different design. parts would have to be printed with this machine as i don't have access to a v0 or other printer.
that's probably the cause of issues though is what i'm guessing
Your prints look more extruder related, and it looks like you are printing to hot, or with not enough cooling
your accels are a little low. I would add a galvanic to carry the weigth of the bowden and umbilical
The stock front idelers suffer from the kind of splitting/cracking you are showing.
this is the reason many people move to BFI, mini BFI, or Rama front idlers
what's a galvanic? i have cable chains
i'm looking to switch to umbilical after i can actually print parts
that's carto's usb cable
i didn't want to rip out all of the cable chains again
just wanted to get carto installed, print the parts for umbilical and install that
do you know what the reason for the weird layer bumps could be?
I am guessing it is all extruder related
doesn't look like cooling to me though
I would start with redoing the e-steps and go from there
extruder calibration?
yup
oof
are you new to 3d printing
no, just to tuning and vorons
I would suggest opening up a ticket
i got this printer in a half functional state from someone off ebay
a help ticket, and have the helpers give you a hand in doing the calibrations
so a lot of the things people who build a voron would know i'm unfamiliar with
This channel is basically when you are done calibrating and are just starting tuning.
i did follow the ellis print tuning guide, it was just after input shaping where i've been getting issues
prints were looking fine before
none of those weird layer issues
input shaper would not cause the weird layer issues
that's why i'm confused as well
i'm just gonna retry all of the tuning steps and see if i can get better front idlers printed
Nothing looks inherently mechanically wrong in input shaper.
I think the issue may be in the extruder, and/or the extruder calibration
yeah, i just don't know what because i didn't change anything about it and it was completely fine before :(
This channel is not for that. Since you are new I think it would be beneficial to open a help ticket #request_help in order to ascertain the cause and develop a fix for the print
so many channels, so many posts
with 40k+ users no one thread/channel can contain all the information
yes, i get it, it's just always so tedious
And now Imagine u are someone who is doing channel hoping at its finest, like most helpers here do 😉
i recalibrated my extruder, tuned in some abs and it looks way better now. even though the acceleration isn't good yet, i'm using these settings to print the front idlers and replacements for the rubber feet mounts, because right now they're worn out and it's not perfectly steady.
the print still has some slight shifts every 5 mm in height or so, though. i'll check if that disappears later, but i'm guessing something to do with z belts or gantry, maybe?
i'll send some pictures later
Where do u see it being broken?
Please mark it via MS Paint or whatever
Have a look at the official VORON 2.4 CAD 😉
uhh
This means what exactly?
that i can't view it yet
Ok, let us know once u checked and what u discovered while checking the front idlers in the CAD
i discovered that i can't open cad files
oh okay i see what you mean, they are two parts
but then they just suck if i understand that correctly
because it moves and changes belt tension
i printed some BFI instead
How comes?
No CAD program available? There are many free and/or open source versions available
FreeCAD, Fusion 360
But yes, 2 parts so its nothing to worry about
The middle, grey part, is what sets tension
should i create another post in print help for the remaining issues then
cause i still have some layer shifts every five or so millimeters on my voron cube
Post in #slicers_and_print_help first to check if it’s actually a mechanical issue
Make absolutely sure to read #slicers_and_print_help message before posting
