Figured it was time to start another build already right? This may be a problem now... Eh. Thats okay. The whole family was in on my gift this year and my wife orchestrated the whole thing. So here we are. One build done, Time for another!

LDO 300mm 2.4 kit. May be going AWD in the near future as well, we will see.

Will post mods list tomorrow, but for now here are some video and pics of printed parts. Cookiecad Dark elixir ASA & Polymaker Yellow ABS. Also possibly some Polymaker Metallic blue if i can figure out where it fits in. Going full steam ahead on all 4 machines, including the new v0! Time to put it to work haha

Workbench prepped and ready to start this build tonight!

Got the ol granite slab out to square the frame - if anyone is thinking about doing this, its totally worth it for nice corner joints. However, moving it around? I would consider a more Permanent style of installation hahaha. Anyways, more to come later tonight im sure.

Time to see this pretty blue frame come together wtf

Ready... Set... Go!

Log entry for the day - 1/19/26

Got the frame pre-loaded with m5 & M3 nuts. really hope i didnt miss any! The LDO anodized extrusions are tight, and i didnt want to crank on the roll in nuts so I Dis-assembled the frame, and preloaded each extrusion based on cross reference from ldo's documentation, the original docs, my mods list, and the CAD file. So really hoping i got that right haha.

The Pearl (cat) has show much interest as usual in my large cube on the workbench, and feels the need to help.
So far, she has done well supervising catcool

Z drives are assembled, and the goal is to have those on tomorrow and possibly start gantry assembly. Took a step back, but now we should be rollin.

Love that frame color great choice! Hope to see it completed and slinging around!

Got a bit stuck overthinking the pre-loading of the nuts. Realized i did in fact miss a few, however they are all for accessory mounting such as the cob led strips and electronics tie-downs and such.

That being said, all of my functional screws have pre-loaded nuts where they should be, so I will just usse hammer-head t-nuts for the decorative / extra stuff.

Going to try and make progress on this tonight, hoping to have z drives and idlers on at least. Hopefully start on the gantry if i do it right!

Forgot to post these last week. Moving on to the belts and gantry / bed next.

Quite liking the polymaker yellow and cookiecad dark elixir, its a solid combo

Last of the prints are starting tonight other than the skirts. Those will be last, however - toolhead prints are done and tomorrow gantry will likely go in

What filament are you using?

Also an update for all, since I seriously cant help myself -

Apparently I lied, this just turned from mostly stock to performance build pretty quick. New bom additions in the image below. Motors qty x4. Should be here sometime in the next few days... 🤦‍♂️

So super apologies on the delay, but its time to get going now as soon as these parts land on my porch!

And so it continues... this thing is going to be wicked. Im debating if I need frame bracing to withstand these kraken motors or of ill be okay. Either way, not much I can brace on this with this massive gantry in the way. May have to go for rigid structural panels or something

Made progress on the build, kraken motors, awd kit, lookin fresh. Taking a break this weekend for RMRRF, but the goal is to wrap this up by the end of April / mid may at the latest if possible. all that its waiting for is the toolhead plate to get belts run.

Decided to wrap and heatshrink all of the wires for a cleaner look and easier time routing cables. seems to be paying off so far, just quite time consuming to get it right.

Back to it later... for now, to colorado!

Made some major progress today, even though it feels like it went slow. I spent the better part of 4 hours doing cable loom on every wire you will see. This includes the cob led strips, x/y endstop, etc.

Going to order the remaining toolhead parts tonight, with the bed going on tomorrow once the wago prints finish.

This is starting to look so swanky. I think I may cop the ultralight x beam and cnc x/y joints, but its de-racked already right now, so im not sure if wanna mess that up haha.

I really should go to bed, 2 am local time here, but ive got some momentum!

#

Once the package from west3d shows next week with my toolhead board and fans, I can get the rest if the top end put together.

Going to finish printing out the stealth skirts in the meantime, as well as get the electronics bay started - Aiming to have this wrapped up next weekend and start tuning

#

I was very worried this whole time that the kraken motors would be too tall to home the printer 😅. With the dragon uhf & matching anthead configuration, it looks like it'll be long enough to probe and mesh without hitting. I even seem to have a little room still if I move the left and right filters underneath the bed more to clear on the front

Didn't get around to printing the skirts yet, however this showed up today - the needed parts!!!! #west3d-🇺🇸-🌐-🌎-🌍 hooking it up with the best parts as always 😎

Im already way too much into this build and im likely to upgrade it more shortly. But for now I want to get this running 🏃‍♂️ so the stock x gantry survives for now

Tonight since I unfortunately work tomorrow will only stay up to a reasonably late hour working on the toolhead. Definitely...
