#Tinkering with my first Voron

Hello everyone! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

This is my first Voron build (self sourced) so if anything strikes you as odd, rest assured it’s because I don’t know what I’m doing.

I built this because I have always wanted to and I like tinkering with stuff. If anyone has any advice to move me towards better quality while maintaining speed or help me find what speed I can print with good quality, that would be fantastic. I almost entirely print parts for projects, so speed and accuracy would be nice.

Known issues:

  • Not really sure what to do with the cable connecting to my hall effect sensor, so it's just kinda there.
  • Belts might be too tight but this tension seemed to smooth out my shaper graphs so I left them.
  • Polar angle energy profile is not symmetric.

Voron V2.4 300

  • Nitehawk 36 ADXL345 mounted to extruder with two screws and standoffs
  • Beacon
  • Pin mod
  • All Motors 24v
  • Reaper Toolhead
  • Belts tensioned by luck
  • Z Motors are LDO-42STH48-2004AC(VRN) with tmc2209 drivers
  • XY Motors are LDO-42STH48-2004MAH(VRN) with tmc5160 drivers

Thank you for taking the time, and I hope everyone has a good Friday!

Roger, I'll get that taken care of, and update. Thank you!

  • disabled "Slow printing down for better layer cooling" Which is what I think you were telling me to do
  • loosened both belts by 1/4 turn.

see Reths writing above

Dropped PA from .04 to .03, seemed to help the corners a bit, dropped EM from .95 to .93 and the combination does seem better. Top is after PA and EM change, bottom is before.

u are good to go 🙂

#

enjoy printing

#

always remember, the input shaper only limits outer walls

infill can be printed as fast as your hotend can keep up. 12k accel or more

inner walls can be printed faster than outer, how fast depends on your quality standards and how many walls.
obviously if u print just 2 walls and the inner one as ringing, u will see it on the outer one 😉

That makes sense! Thank you guys very much for all of the help, I really do appreciate it!

just noticed we forgot to tell u

White ranges = Avoid

Green ranges = good, print in these.
always check in your slicer via the sliced preview if u print in a bad range.

#

iirc the latest Orca version has a "avoid those speeds" option somewhere

unborn marten

Roger that! I forgot to ask, is it not an issue that my polar angle is wonky?

get a serial number, then u have options to improve further 😉

I definitely want to get a serial. Out of curiosity, is getting a serial a requirement for anything?

getting the serial number will get u the server role here

highly worth it
