So on my switchwire I have:

  • SKR Mini
  • Keystone -> camera
  • nevermore mini
  • U2C

On my V0 i have

  • SKR Pico
  • Klipper Expander
  • V0 USB display
  • Keystone -> nothing RN

I'm using a Meanwell RS25 for power on the switchwire and the SKR Pico for 5v power on the V0

On the SW I currently have the SKR and U2C on the USB3 side, the nevermore as power only and camera is flaking out, if i have the U2C on the USB2 side the can bus drops unexpectedly or refuses to come up. If I don't have the nevermore on the USB3 side and try to connect, it connects intermittently and is a huge PITA.

On the SW, the V0 display is on the USB2 side and it's really laggy, iv've just switched from a Btt Pi and the effect is noticeable. I have another V0 display on an x64 thin client and that's always been super snappy.

Is there anything config wise that might be causing this, I've just rolled out some mainsailOS images, do I'm not doing anything weird there and the Pi4s are box-new 1Gb versions from a reputable seller.

I'm hoping this is a facepalm moment and i've missed something "obvious".

written this way it's really hard to parse the actual issues.

essentially you're saying USB devices on two printers are laggy/dropping connections?

the only common things between the printers would seem to be the 1gb Pi4s, and presumably the operating systems

probably not, sorry. i was going to explore things further once it was cleared up some more

In a nutshell, can you tell us what the issue is? Error, shutdowns, etc?

refusal to connect, unexpected disconnection, really laggy perfomance on the v0 display when it does connect, the usb3 pair of sockets are fine, but on both pi's the usb2 pair are acting up, it's proper heisenbug territory, but I've got it on both Pis now

At first i thought the nevermore was just a PITA, i've had that for ages, but i was in poking about in the switchwire today and reconencted the USB differently and suddnely the nervermore was fine (when on usb3) and the U2C was acting up o nthe usb2 side. Swap them around again and the U2C is good and the nevermore is infuriating again

And without a camera attached? Could be hitting a limit of the usb

seems to be hapening indpeendent of a camera

Well, seems to is a bit vague. Can we test it without the camera attached specifically?
