#Clicking sound coming from motor mounts

Hi,
before I start disassembling does anybody have an idea what is causing the clicking noise in the video. It is clearly related to movement of the left motor mount. Is it a breaking bearing or maybe the motor? I have no clue ๐Ÿ˜….
Parts are metal on the whole gantry assembly.

Could be a rough spot in a bearing in one of the idlers, that could make a sound like that on each turn. If you don't really feel like disassembling the whole thing, just run it for a while and see if it wears in and goes away. Not a bad idea to replace when convenient though, or if it starts getting worse.

IMHO, if that's a bad bearing it's not going to fix itself. Remove the belts and rotate each bearing pair to find it then go through the pain to replace it now. It will be a lot simpler now than after you get it all built.

I've had a couple idler bearings that made noise when new but then went away (some debris that got pulverized or a rough spot that got worn down, who knows), and others that never did. If you have the patience to replace it, it's of course better to do so.

Those cheap tiny bearings are sometimes just not quite up for the radial load of a tensioned belt.

I've had a bunch of cheap idlers fail after quite a bit of use (especially the toothed idlers in my old 1.55, those are seemingly only available in crap quality), but pretty sure those were not the same ones. If I didn't feel like taking the gantry apart and just wanted to get printing, I'd just send it. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

The printer has been running for 100-200 hours already with these bearings. It seems like I reduced quality when installing the metal parts and replacing the existing bearings ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜…. Unfortunately now everything is nicely tensioned and tuned in ๐Ÿ˜‡. I think Iโ€™ll just leave it till I am doing a bigger maintenance or notice new artifacts โ˜น๏ธ.

As long as the bearing isn't seizing up or wobbling a lot, it doesn't really matter too much what it does.
