#Microwave 2.0
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
Here's a questions for a dumb dumb, how is it normally mounted? RTV seems extreme but then again, so does a fire. XD
Normally most bolt the thermal fuse to the plate. But RTV to the heater is safer as you don’t have to wait for the plate (which could be a good 1cm from the heater) to reach the temp for the fuse to pop.
why not install the 180 or 125? seems ok-ish
125 limits the bed to 115ish, 180 would be better than nothing right now
They are +- 10C or 10% iirc
125c is below my goal of 135c bed temp. 180c is above the thermostat in the heater which is 150c. So it would likely do nothing forever. Just like it’s currently wired. And with RTV that means I’ll not be removing that thermal fuse ever. I’d rather do it with the correct fuse when I’m ready to.
thats fair, as an aside I thought thermal fuses do their own temp sensing
The thermostat in the heater is like a self resetting fuse. So while the thermostat will shut off the heater at 150c. It will also turn the heater back on at 140c (just an example. I don’t know the specifications of the thermostat other than the temp it’s rated to turn off)
They do. In the way of just popping when they themselves are within +/-10% of their temperature rating.
Oh gotchas
What toolhead?
UAP
That's the one on printables?I like it. Where you get the sock/cage and what boatd
Would be nice on the 500 I'm building
Yes. The heatshield is available from SmolBoi also on printables. I ordered mine from JLC3DP printed in SLM titanium. I’m using a EBB36 but I made a mount specifically for it.
I see. I'll ping them when time comes, still miss parts, to not say haven't started the build yet
I mean. @raw sorrel is in this build log. Or at least was at one point.
Yeah, I knew who you were talking about
Heh. I love tridents. The carto coil is ~58mm from the bed surface. Chamber top is right next to the camera there (camera outside chamber, chamber thermistor inside chamber), and chamber bottom is ~50mm from the bottom in the back left corner.
Oh. And I have no door.
It's just a towel I draped over the front
🤣 . The HE fan just kicked on as well. Nice
Chamber reached 60c with a towel door. 🤣. Steppers were enabled for ~1 hour as well and were only at 70c. Pretty sure I can safely increase drive current for them from 1a to probably 1.2a. Nice.
It’s great until your carto gets to 125c and dies during a print
I’ve never seen a carto get above 100c myself. As in. They never reach that temp. I even usually run 135c bed temps for the first layer to preheat the chamber faster.
My chamber got to 75c and that thing died pretty quick. Carto ht is still in testing but it should be out soon ish. Currently using beacon and it runs quite a bit cooler than Carto
Yea. Beacon is an eventual plan anyways. Cause of the mag bed thing. But it’s a long ways out.
Not bad!
Looks like it came out quite good
Bed adhesion is pretty good too. Lol
Taking up more of the plate this print
@timid arrow This is what I meant by “I torture these shelves”. 🤣
looks very very stuck on
https://github.com/Xiar1/Voron/tree/main/vT.2109
Configs are now on github
Do you have configs for #1309948210160205834 anywhere?
Not up to date ones I don’t think.
60c chamber 110c bed
Can't see in printer rn but webcam solves that. Lol. @dusk crest is right. Camera for monitoring is
even at a low resolution
@hollow hemlock Door hardware ready to go! Now to just wait on the door to arrive. Probably Monday/tuesday cause I presume mandala doesn’t work weekends. Lol
And they were printed on Microwave 2.0 too!
I now have everything ready for the door….. but I still have no door. 🤣
Oooooo loooking very nice. I'm guess thing the little numbs on the middle and left one are the locking bits?
Yep. They aren’t “locking” but they are the magnet holders to hold the door shut. I’m gonna redesign them though to use the mandala magnets. For extreme strength. Lol.
Hmmm… I could do maglocks… the M8P can easily power those…
Hmmm. Dang. They aren’t typically only rated for 55c ambient temps. Lol. 70c goal chamber temp may melt them.
Maglock would be cool, and perhaps but maybe. Might be worth a try though. Maybe add something to them to keep it "cooler"
Not gonna happen when they are in the chamber. Lol. The lowest temp I could keep them would be the chamber temp.
I may even just make actual latches. Like friction ones.
I used an externally mounted electromagnet for a little while. need to hardware control it though
otherwise if you have another process running you can't open the door
cabinet magnets work perfectly
I'm curious what your vibration mapping looks like. Been trying to figure mine out, cold and hot, and no nevermore = best results, but with, it varies hard core.
True true. Could have something on the outside of the chamber, but that might not look the best. Unless you can make a nice design or something
what is the name of the purgeline ur using? @pine delta
Squiggly purge
@pine delta maybe a little off topic, but what results did you get from running 2504s on PET-CF mounts for max current?
I never had 2504’s. 😅. I went from 2004’s to 3004’s. And I never really tested much current on the PET-CF mounts when Hexdent had them. That was back when it was a stock trident.
gotcha. FAFO it is
The door for this printer will be here today!
I meant tomorrow… I typed that half awake. 😅
Hello and congratulations on this printer!!!! If it's not a secret, what is that toolhead / extruder? I'm going to start building my first Voron soon (yes!) and I'm looking for good ideas!
That toolhead is UAP. You can find it on printables. It’s a Goliath hotend with SLM titanium heatshield and CPAP cooling.
Fixed my belt tension and gained 2k accel on Y compared to before... This printer is breaking in perfectly apparently. (gonna redo with 5 scv and up to 200 on frequency)
Not bad! I did increase APH to 100 as well. X could definetly use some work but I think I'll leave it there for now.
Printing well!
Need to add one more top layer when doing infill this little clearly. And still need to tune the retractions. Or leave the spool in there while I print ABS next time 🤣
Supports failed but are slowly recovering.
(also, what a perfect use of a long exposure photo. 🤣 )
Door! I currently don’t have the latches or foam tape on yet but I love it!
Smoothest door I have ever used.
This door was so expensive and so nice that I have to agree with @modest plaza here and put the foam tape on the frame.
oh damn that looks cool!
is that actual glass or pc?
PC. 6mm thick!
damn nice!
#1434612830614585476 is gonna get a clicky clack door with glass panel thats gonna look
I thought about the clicky clack door but wanted something that didn’t stick out so far.
yea thats fair!
Foam seal has been applied!
There it is! Minus the magnetic catches I need to design to use magnets I have on hand anyways. I love it.
I’m gonna reuse the neodymium magnets from the magbed when I swapped them for SMCO. No magnet is needed on the door itself as I used carbon steel screws for the handles and the magnets will just attract those.
@violet sage I love the K3 door as well
Once I get those magnet holders made, printed, and mounted this printer will never see a lower temp filament than ABS again more than likely. I still need to install a PT1000 in the Goliath but I am kinda dreading doing that rn due to how hard it’s gonna be to do so.
Guessing it's pretty stuck in the hotend?
No. I gotta remove the hotend from UAP due to its positioning right next to the duct. Can’t unscrew it.
Oooohhhhh. that sounds like a pain in the backside.
Having to go with a PT1000 because of heat right?
The filaments I want Microwave 2.0 to be able to print need to print at 320c and higher. So I need a PT1000 instead of the generic 3950 I’m using right now.
Ah gotchas. What material? I eventually plan on something similar, but later XD. Need some temp protection
Also the name will be fitting for higher temps lol
Certain PC’s and other exotics.
Oooooo nice nice. If I recall PC is one of my eventual targets. So do share with how that all goes
When I can afford them. 🤣
Lol, yeah that stuff, not cheap at all. So painfully expensive for the exotics that you will probably spend a chunk of the spool figuring out how the hell to even print it 🤣
Satisfying door thump as it closes. 😆
this thump alone makes me want to get one 😅
Door stays shut during printing without much issue! Hooray! And despite the 30k accel max in this thing (not the actual max just my max I planned on for it) it’s quieter than the X1C now with the door. Lmao.
Just over 2 times faster than an X1C as well. Same print on it would take 3.1 hours. This only takes 1.4 hours. Lol.
Probably due to the double used accel and the over double flow
Yea something like that. 🤣
Also V6 nozzles over a pin that cant be removed
Which does mean that if I do hit 1k print hours on it. I’ll have printed the same amount as the X1C. Lmao.
Lol.
I warped mine
Mines 6mm PC. I highly doubt I’ll be able to warp that.
Yep, 6mm PC,I warped it
How tf did you manage that?
328cfm of bedfans
Well I don’t have that. 🤣
so is the x1c out of a job now that this is your reliable one? :3
By what I know and Xiar has said yes that was the purpose of the Microwave to replace the X1C until Smth happens
For the most part. Lol. I still need to do some proper tuning ofc.
probably because of the awesome toolhead
Hey @inland stratus . Quick question. How hard is switching ATSS AWD to 9mm belts? Do I just need different spacers and the additional bearings for the bearing stack? And of course pulleys and the other stuff. I’m just trying to decide if I should go ahead and change over or not.
Do it
I plan to. Eventually. I am atm broke. Lol. Also after today I’ll have to decide between ordering CNC machine parts and ordering printer parts.
Lol same I just bought a 5070 since GPU prices are about to skyrocket since AI companies cant get enough DDR ram chips so now there buying in bulk GDDR ram chips
freaking ai companies
I hate em. I hope the AI Bubble pops soon
Lol. My 3090 just keeps going.
I’m waiting on Amazon to deliver some thin aluminum plates and 2mm endmills to see if a dirt cheap 3018 cnc can even look like it will mill aluminum. If it does well then I’ll probably look at getting a new spindle and metal Z for it instead of printer parts.
My 1080ti is the same way but starting to show age sadly
Lol. I'm on a 1070 rn.....
I cant wait for the Voron mill
EVGA made an awesome graphics card
If it works out I plan on cutting some double shear bearing holders for Microwave here. Be my very own CNC’d parts.
Your on a EVGA 1080Ti? Lol im on a EVGA 1070 lol
I do too. I use AI time to time, but what they are doing now days, the companies, are just.. not great and keep screwing up everything
Yep. EVGA 1080ti FTW 3
Sometimes its usefull but yeah.
I had a 1070ti with an i7-8700. Then caught the 3090 prices dropping drastically when 40 series released and scalpers were getting rid of product. Got it for $900 that day. $600 below MSRP. Later on I finally upgraded the cpu to a i9-13900kf. Lol
I have a RTX 3090 and I never once have played a game. LOL
I look forward to seeing that stuff
Nice. I've got the EVGA 1070 SuperClocked
I torture mine with hexagons in fusion 360. 🤣. Whole computer starts screaming at me.
I feel this. LOL
That was a pretty good card too if I recall. Nvidia was honestly just very generous with the 1080ti, then it went all down hill XD

Lol I just bought the 5070 At MSRP so im happy and it should last me for awhile especially since all id need to do is upgrade the CPU and then its a $2k rig
This is fusion 360 rendering btw. 🤣
I haven't tried rendering but I can imagine.
Fusion doesn’t touch the GPU for rendering. So it’s all cpu. And it’s relentless on it. 🤣
Yeah. It went downhill HARD only reason im still on Nvidia is some specific programs is use really benefit from the Cuda cores and the DLSS is a bonus to make it run smoother
Very nice setup. Still on first gen ryzen myself.
The 3090 I assume is doing you well. All the overhead!!!!
You're joking....
Me 2! But now it looks like Amazon delivers tomorrow. Oh well. More helldiving today instead then. 😆
Not joking
4x the cores my Cpu has but 2.5ghz slower
Not in the slightest.
Ah but what you see there is the average cpu speed. The first 4 p-cores are clocked at 6GHZ.
Yeah.... That is the downside. I think even with the hit I'll go AMD next time. I'm on linux anyway so it would do better, but Resolve, which is my editing software I want to get back to use, favors Nvidia.
Lol. Apparently the next Big updates December 2nd cant wait for more Hell and hopefully a Smaller download size like they promised
Nvidia is a bitch TBH
that's dumb
Immediately is a full game redownload.
By the time I need to upgrade Again im certain AMD will help the better pick
Yes
Ah. Well ive got 6 Cores at 5.5Ghz
75W though
Will be upgrading that next on the system
Heh… mine draws 300w under a full load. Lmao.
I find it funny i have a 150W GPU and a 75W Cpu on a 1250W PSU
Lol
The PSU Dosent Do ANYTHING at all lol the fan Idles and thats it
I have a 1kw PSU for future upgradability. Like a new GPU. That will be an opportunistic upgrade though. I have no plan to upgrade that right now. I do need more RAM. Turns out fusion eats 64GB for a breakfast snack. Waiting till I get my tax refund to upgrade to 128GB.
Lol. I've got 32GB of RAM, and I need to figure out why, no matter how much I have, no matter what system, no matter what I do, Windows always uses 50% of my RAM.
I’d like to switch to DDR5 but motherboard + RAM is probably outside of the scope of a tax refund sadly
Im On DDR5 myself rn just got the Build done about 2 weeks ago
Colorfull thing. The GPU wasn't in it yet lol
I went with DDR4 for now cause I had the 64GB already. Lol. Now I need more apparently. Here I was. Thinking 64GB would be plenty.
For Fusion Never
Theres a reason why high end fusion systems run ThreadRippers and 256gb or above ram
My GPU upgrade though was 4GB of Vram 700mhz clock speed and 20K Mhz Memory speed JEEZ who knew the difference between GDDR5 and GDDR7 was THAT big
Mine. Ignore the dust. It’s been a while. Lol.
Lol. Seems we both got an AIO
even my 2 fan one is Severe overkill for my AMD Cpu though
Yes. My motherboard has LEDs as well. 🤣
Asides from mine has an extra 2 fans on the bottom we've got almost the same configuration
Uhhhh…. The i9-13900kf struggles at a max load with that big ole one. Lol. Hits 100c on a couple cores. Doesn’t thermal throttle but it comes real close. Lmao
Yeah that CPU is Known for Getting HOT
Yes. Yes it does. 🤣
Still $500 rn though
According to what I can find AMDs price equivalent the Ryzen 9 9950X3D (littlerally there current Best CPU) is only average about 22% faster for tasks like Fusion 360. While being 130W less and 30C cooler. Damn
Core Ultra 9 285K is Intels best Cpu. 250W max draw up to 15c Hotter. With a 17% improvement compared to your current
Though the Core Ultra 9 285K is cheaper lol
Yea… I’m perfectly happy with my current cpu. Lol. No need to upgrade that.
Def. Not wouldn't be too worth it.
I got it for $600 at the time
Its about $5-600 on Amazon rn soo about the same
It’s a very nice for all around everything. Throw fusion at it: takes a minute for giant operations but otherwise fine, throw blender at it: literally didn’t care. Lol, throw video games it: GPU is the bottleneck. Lol.
For me once my new GPU arrives Cpu is the bottleneck for everything with my R5 9600X
I can see the GPU being the bottleneck in my build pretty well. When it’s pegged at 100% load while playing video games and the cpu is cold. 🤣.
It’s definitely gonna hate me more when I upgrade the monitor to the dual 4k Samsung odyssey I plan to.
These are some weird looking microwaves /s
Lol. My Cpu dosent go above 45c while the GPU is hitting 80-90c lol 20% load vs 100% load on my current setup def gonna be reversed with the new GPU
It’s my log! I can talk about whatever I want to! 😆
Imma make the GPU cry for help with the new monitor when I can afford it. 🤣
Lol. 4K?
Welcome to gchat 4.0
Dual 4k. The Samsung odyssey g9. It’s a super wide 49in monitor that’s basically 2 monitors in one.
On the actual current topic, I was given an RTX Quadro 4000 that I'm going to replace with a 16GB 5060TI once my old PC sells
Current version I have is dual 1080p. So 3840x1080.
and then sell the quadro for printer funds
Dang. I've only got 1 1440p 180Hz and 1 1080P 60Hz monitor
Thinking a R9 9700X for my next CPU
For $330.....
My monitor upgrade will cost me $1.6-2k depending on timing of when I order and when I actually have that much to spend. Lol.
I got a free PC from a friend who works IT, so I got an I7-12700K that replaced my I5-7600K
Dang. I'm not gonna have money to just spend like that for awhile
It’s the Neo g9 I want. https://a.co/d/jhd5Q1p Currently $1.5k actually. Lol
Elevate your game with the world's first Dual UHD Monitor – Samsung's 57" Neo G9 Curved Gaming Monitor. Features 57" screen size, 1000R curve with Quantum Matrix Technology powered by Quantum Mini LEDs for astounding levels of visual accuracy and unparalleled definition. 240Hz Refresh Rate, 1ms r...
Dual 4k 57in super wide monitor. 🤣
42lbs even.
My current one is freaking heavy too. It hurts mentally to need to move it. Lol. These things aren’t cheap.
Nah you want the Samsung wall only 130 inch screen for $40K 🤑
https://www.samsung.com/us/business/displays/direct-view-led/ia-series/all-in-one-iac-130-2k-lh015iacchs-za/
Yea… that ain’t fitting in my tiny ass apartment. Lol.
Plus that’s only 2k
I want the dual 4k.
Theres a 16K version. Not even joking its $230K
Welp. I’m off to go solo dive whilst I await my friends to be online/off work too.
Its Samsungs most expensive screen actually
Lol id see if i could join ya if i wasn't leaving to tbe gym in an hour
It is so incredibly tempting to call work and say I'll be late just so I can drag you into a level 10 toaster kill squad
You scare me. 🤣
Ive gotten like 30 secs away from soloing a lvl 10 twice now
remember, you dont have to extract to win
survival is very optional
I want tandem oled so much lol. So bright and no ambient purple haze
know someonewith that monitor, at least I think its that. But it's really REALLY nice
If you move with it though, be VERY VERY careful. His broke and had to get a replacement
personally my monitors aren't the best. Got a decent one from a friend though. First wide screen, still 1080 but works well
Oh I know. I already have one a few generations old. Lol. Mines just not the dual 4k. Mines dual 1080.
Oh dang! Bet it is still quite nice though. TBH wide screens are fantastic. Though I still like having more than one
Also had no idea helldivers had a crossbow XD
Looks fun, and even more fun on the widest of wide bois
Mines uh… Level 25… it’s kinda almost all I use. 🤣. It’s explosive and amazing and one handed. Lol
(Level 25 is max level for weapons)
Good lord you must have put some time to get it to 25 then. Can't imagine leveling weapons in that game is exactly fast.one handed explosive firing weapons are always worth the time. Too bad it probably doesn't make a nice thump sound..
I mean… I am level 46. 🤣
Not as high as Taco here but I unlocked it early.
I'm very sad the thumper launcher isn't a gif on here.... disappointment
Good lord, y'all must play a decent amount of the game. Does seem quite a nice time passer. And rage room XD
If I’d join the Helpers during their dives I’d have a lot more time in the game. 🤣
Seems to be you are slacking then
Lol. Nah. I just have a work, life, sleep schedule that doesn’t coincide with their play times.
Ew responsibilities 😂
Exactly
Baby squiggle for:
This print:
Gonna put a stealthmax S smart on this microwave I’ve decided.
Wonder which parts of the build plate is available for the squiggle. Def not just the corners or Inside the part but i doubt adaptive purge is that good
But 5 ½ hrs for that isnt bad at all
It’ll put it as close to 0,0 as it can on this print. That’s why I made it so small. To hopefully just barely fit.
It should fit in that hole. If not manually remove it as fast as possible while the layers slow
Slow?
Well the first layer is relatively slow
You fail to realize my first layer is as fast as a normal layer. 🤣
Hmmm I see Nasa Adhesion
Yea… I don’t have adhesion problems since I learned how to care for the plate. Lol
I do need to clean this plate before hitting print though.
Ive never had even a brand new plate adhere that well lol
Oof. Someone’s unlucky
Well i also haven't gotten a like $80 West3D plate soo
That’s a pretty cheap plate I’m using rn. Lol
If only they had round ones for Deltas lol id buy like 4 instantly just for my one delta
It needs it
You are finally putting a filter on something XD
Bambu ABS is why
Good lord that stuff is fumy
Always surprises me. The asa i use you can sometimes see it on the purge line but that is so much more
Curious, what do you print at temp wise?
This is just from purge black to go to yellow.
And yes. The whole time it prints it does that.
260c. 50mm of meltzone means it’s definitely melted. Lol. Plus. Not even using half the max flow of Goliath helps.
Took a moment and set the temp names better. C = Chamber, M = MCU, and if I ever have thermistors on the steppers they will be S = Stepper.
Attempt one. Failed. Front left corner didn’t attach to the plate sadly. Think I really am gonna glue the plate for this print.
That is insane.
And 260? It smokes that much! I printed with revo at 270-275.
I had just been wondering if you could pull from the same sensor multiple time, for averaging and general. Nice. But looks quite neat. You have so many sensors XD
Kind of wish klipper had stuff for humidity sensors too though
Honestly, v1 was hard to get stuck with no warp, so glue that sumbish lol
It’s not v1… it’s the small version.
The 350 isn’t available for abs at this time. Lol. Otherwise this print would been completed days ago. 🤣
your z offset is high everywhere
You are seeing layer 2-4 somewhere in there. It’s not high anywhere.
Also you’re seeing the effect caused by the slightly too low EM I use. It’s only under by like 0.5% but that’s on purpose.
How come?
I prefer this look. It’s the way the X1C prints things with its automatic calibration stuff. And I like it.
I mean when I printed the full sized one myself of v1. Had some issues with the print. Though, given I have a 300 plate, it was on the VERY edge
Lol. I have a 250 and I’m on the edges as well printing the small.
Ah gotcha. I have tried going for as smooth as I can, so I get going with that. Didn't know that the X1C went that route. Guess it is safer than going with a bit over.
Oh yes that's right, for some reason I was thinking this printer was 300 not 250 XD. Was wondering why you went with the small. Printing at the edge is so rough....
Pretty much. There’s always been the tiniest of gaps on printed parts off the X1C. And I haven’t noticed any problems. So I tune to that as well.
Take a look at the above pic one more time.
If I knew this would last in PLA-F (15% ABS 85% PLA) I would print it on Hexdent. Sucker could knock out this print in just a couple hours. 🤣.
Hmm it does look a lot smaller now I'm giving it a closer look... XD
The tiny toolhead makes it look bigger than it actually is. Lol. Plus the nema14 motors.
A, the ABS PLA thing still baffles me... how. Thought they weren't compatiable XD.
Honestly I'd love to see the Hexdent printing at mach fuck you and ending with something usable XD
I think my experience is also so limited I expect everything to be as big as my v2
Like just holding the A4T i'm thinking its super tiny lol
Ask and you shall receive. Lid to my lionfish tank which protects him from my cat and my cat from him (he’s venomous).
It so FAST. Guess once I get chube I'll be seeing how fast my printer can actually go XD. Maybe I'll get lucky and match your speeds. (A man can dream XD ) I completely forgot about this print though TBH. Were you able to figure out something for the little hole?
Lionsfish are an interesting animal. How is it taking care of it?
The little hole has a lid that just sits on it. It was printed on the v0 while the full lid was printed. Was pushing ~60³ continuous flow. 0.5 nozzle.
He’s fun. They learn who feeds them and well. Be careful feeding them. They are aggressive. I got him eating freeze dried krill. He’s quite aggressive.
Good lord that is a lot! Pretty quick print I imagine
He is just a little hangry fella lol. Pretty and dangerous tend to go hand and hand XD
You referring to the fish or printer?
Indeed they do! 😆
lol, was talking about the fish
Ik. But couldn't help but make the joke
Let’s hope for no issues for the next 5.5 hours.
@desert jetty My print speeds for ya.
"I Cast LAYER SHIFT"
YOU MONSTER!
And im pretty sure thats not monotonic for the bottom
saving throw!
Quick roll a D20
It is…
Got a 19!
Huh. I've always had my monotonic do the small zones as its passing by them when yours just skipped one
In case you don’t believe me. That was the first roll. 🤣
That’s the second layer. Lol.
Or maybe third…
Lol.
Currently using noise cancelling earbuds and blasting music to not hear the printer (and the birds while I clean them up a bit). Lmao.
Is it that loud lol
Absolutely gorgeous infill layer.
When it’s doing the 400mm/s at 30k accel moves yea. Lol.
The microwave knows how to scream. Lol
Lol. That's what stealthchops for especially since its meant to be a X1C replacement and by what I know those are pretty quiet
Stealthchop is basically useless in a CoreXY. The motors spin way too fast. Also. The X1C is by no means quiet. I should know. Lol. The microwave can print so much faster that I’m perfectly fine throwing on headphones and playing video games or listening to music.
Youd be surprised how loud smth can get before i consider it loud. If im trying to sleep the A1 Minis noisy but awake its silent to me
It’s about 70db right at the door. And with my AirPods in I’m only hearing 50db.
My watch is fancy. Lol.
Thats like 10db quieter than what my Deltas old and new fan difference is lol the old one was 80-85db and the new one 60-65db
And this has CPAP.
Whats the max_power set to though? 1 im guessing
Right now I’m only using 30% max. I don’t see the point in more. Lol
I’ve mostly only printed full plates so far. So don’t need a ton of cooling. Especially in a 60c chamber.
The cfg max_power or the fan %? There quiet different
1.0. Min is 0.15.
Kalico auto scales that though. So I’m using 30% from 0.15 to 1.0.
It makes 0.15 be 1% and 1.0 be 100%.
Yeah thats what i guessed. The db of the new fan was at 1 max pwr and the old one was at 0.8
Kalico is cool and all
Lol. I would test the estimate for that model on one of my machines but none of the ones big enough are working rn
Can always just slice it
Well im pretty sure its larger than 220 so the one machine big enough i havent tuned anything on yet 😅
Lol. Yea. It's 242x242
Yeah that one machine i got that could fit that is the V2 300 but that hasn't booted yet since the one time I got it working the SD card was corrupted and when I tried to re do it the one reader I had broke and i haven't gotten a new one lol
But the V2 also has a Revo hotend and is just 24V sooo.
And also not Mine Mine just mine rn temporarily
The E5S1 is the closest. But if it was vertical the Delta would finish it fastest and was 22mm smaller lol
Gonna restart it in a minute. I've stopper klipperscreen service and crowsnest.
Did the Host Overload or smth?
If so. How is this always the issue with you
Checking log so gimme a minute. But it is a CB1 that I was absolutely slamming. Lol
That would do it with that machine for certain. Cm5 time
Lol. You are welcome to send me the funds for a CM4/5.
(My biggest set back and the reason I dont have 7 projects atm^)
That poor carto. 🤣
It made the error out of pain
That is very odd
Theres gotta be smth that cycles every 5 mins
No bytes retransmit. So thats good. Likely no wiring or CAN bus related issues
Not smth to do with lighting is it.
Not really possible. Leds are controlled with a WLED controller that, yes, moonraker is connected to but only to tell it what to do when I tell it to. No automation there
Are you able to get any data on what was happening when the pulses ate happening
So far no. Can't find anything
Does the screen have a idle timeout?
Disabled
Guessing no timelapse
Definetly not
And this printer has run longer prints then it made it in this print
What was I doing at 7am?
By what I can find the only thing thats common with a Cb1 that does that is klipperscreen but that is usually from a idle timeout causing a surge for a moment or a "high-resolution" Webcam running a timelapse or shutting off and back on once every while
Or overheating getting close to the max where it has to thermal throttle once in awhile
It isn't going over 45c
Hmmmm
I might’ve used too much glue. 🤣
Maybe a little
Well. I’m discouraged right now. So probably not gonna go ahead and re-attempt this print right now honestly.
Hexdent could do it if ya need it done
And its not busy
No it can’t. It’s currently clogged and not capable of ABS due to no panels
Still no panels? And what clogged a Chube
Pla. Duh. It’s a Chube conduction. Lol. Heat creep
Ofcourse you got heat creep.
Beds at 60c, motors blasting the area with 70c, and there’s no cooling fan on a Chube conduction…. 🤣
And the Extruder stepper def didnt help
Eh. That’s fine. It’s rather isolated from the hotend. Lol. I don’t have a metal extruder yet on it.
Also next Monday is on the day 2 months from when youd posted a New video of the Hexdent printing on the Hexdent channel
It does all this back to back without a single issue but now it has an issue?!
Nearly 13 hours of printing and not caring
And we can't make it past an hour into a different print
102 print jobs... Not one TTC error. Just errors caused by me. wtf
It didnt like the glue
Smth had to be compiling slowly overtime
What you can’t see there is the multiple reboots. 😅
Yolo it again? :3
Probably not for a few days. Honestly. It hit me so hard I called it done for the day and fell asleep earlier.
@pine delta https://www.ebay.com/itm/257159815682
eBay
The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 is a single board computer from the Raspberry Pi series, with a core based on ARM. It features 2GB of RAM and eMMC flash memory for program storage. With WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, this device is perfect for development projects in the business and industrial sectors. It is a reliable and versatile option ...
Doesn’t lite not have WiFi?
Lite is no eMMC
Ah. Would help if I look at the code in the pic.
Well I still have no funds. So it’ll be a while. And I doubt I’ll order it this pay day.
Here’s the plan @bright aurora . We’re gonna take the CM5 from Hexdent. I don’t use Hexdent much right now due to the whole PLA + Conduction = bad time situation. Gonna backup everything from the home folder on both printers to GitHub for safe keeping. Then flash a brand new sd card for Microwave 2.0 instead of overwriting anything. For backup purposes.
Hexdent will get a CM4 when I can order one in the future.
But the Microwave will get the nice CM5 for future longevity and reliableness.
This is gonna take awhile.
WinSCP currently downloading all the home folder from both printers.
Currently im trying to figure out why I cant get TPU to extrude consistenly for the life of me on my Delta.
Thinking that retraction might be on in the default tpu profile
SD card is now flashing as well with legacy os lite. Bookworm for the CM5. Since shaketune currently doesn’t support trixie.
Also carto didn’t until the beta. Lol
Absolutely hammering storage media on my pc rn. Lmao. Good thing for the nice nvme ssd.
Oh. And probably gonna reprint the UAP in the coming couple of weeks in Ambrosia PCCF
Im pretty sure my storage wouldn't have an issue when very few printers have even 100gb of data total
And its currently sitting at 2tb free total
Nah. I’m just hammering the read write speeds. Lol.
Lucky… I have 200gb free.
Ah. How fast does your drive go?
7Gbps. 🤣
I swaped to the slim Helldivers beta (even though its not actually a Beta) and it got me like 130gb back
🤣 so close mine does exactly 7.2gbps
Yea that’s what I did too……. You can guess why. 🤣 (the value I stated is right now…)
I plan on running 3 2Tb drives in raid at some point for my main drive. However. Funding is limited.
I currently have only 1 4Tb m.2 drive. But I could fit 2 more in my motherboard and then there's spots in my case for 2hdd or 4 ssd drives without even using any of the pcie slots that almost all are free since vertical gpu
I have 1 1Tb nvme. I have 4 nvme slots. 😆
1 more nvme slot than me. Lol
Can't believe i forgot i have 2 Pc's in my room rn lol
The new one and the old one which the 5070s box is sitting atop
I’m thinking about getting whatever the cheapest NVME drives I can find are that are also 2TB each. Since I’ll be running them in raid it won’t matter if each drive is “slow” cause in raid it will be faster than my boot drive.
At that point, build a NAS. If you don't know what that is, it plugs directly into your router and is basically your own personal cloud.
I have a 4TB one for backups. Lol. It’s a HDD though.
And I’m not gonna game on the network. Lol
Microwave 2.0 is backed up
That is not always the case. with only 2 drives, you will only see an increase in speed by using a RAID 0 (no redundancy). If you do a RAID1, the performance is going to be the same as the slowest drive. RAID 10 (minimum of 4 drives) if you want speed increase
They've got NVME 2.5inch SSDs lol.
Also youd have all your printing and other files that youd dont need read 1000 times a minute on the NAS the rest like games would be on your computer
There is a not 0 likelihood I will be using raid0. 😅
See here’s the thing… about 600GB on my drive rn is games.
Rookie numbers 3x that and thats how much is games on mine
Hexdent is backed up. Time to pull SBC’s and hope I remembered everything. Lmao.
Well. I only have 1TB of storage… I can’t have more.
And your almost out and im about 50% full
Also. 673 files just sent to GitHub.
I dont think having all dooms installed at once helps
I think I have Hexdent backed up in like 12 places now. 🤣
Not enough. Back the Hexdent up into your cpus MicroCode
I will need to also print a cm5 fan mount as well…. It will need more direct cooling than the cb1 needs.
I love copper heatsinks.
We need some of those fans that are actual Blade less fans for diy 3d printing. Gonna try to find them exactly rq
Imma use the old vindr 3010 from Reaper CPAP for it I think. Has a tachometer and everything.
Yeah uh a Peizo electric fan there crazy
X1C is booting up to print the fan mount.
Microwave 2.0 is on the floor again on its side for the first time in probably 30 print hours.
Currently just waiting on the X1C to finish.
WHY DOES KLIPPER TAKE SO LONG TO INSTALL?!
Stupid freaking TTC error… grumble grumble grumble
And I have to install it twice since I need to switch it to Kalico.
Also. Why is this 3010 louder than a freaking CPAP?! 🤣
rofl
It's alive again! At least software side anyways. Lol
And now the CM5 fan is PID controlled and has the RPM
using kalico?
Yep. But I was using CB1 before
Update. Haven’t printed anything yet. Ordered Ambrosia PCCF to reprint the toolhead in. Decided to wait to order the Stealthmax S smart parts till next payday as I have like 6 hours of overtime on that payday.
Yay! I was able to keep the history going!
Nevermind on changing to endstops @bright aurora ! I was able to get sensorless 100% reliable!
One perfect (to me) cube! Nice!
Nice. I can respond now that im in the car but the internet provider to me and the entire island i live on is down due to the current weather here im WA
Oof. I’ll probably print the Stealthmax main body soon btw. That will be a true test of the CM5 and the printer. I lowered the accels all to 10k (leaving speeds alone) which extends it an extra hour.
If the cb1 was the issue. It'll def finish it now even if you went faster
In theory. Which is why I’m slowing it down for a few prints.
Oh if ya want an idea on how bad the weather and flooding is besides the news uhh the closest water to here before was a mile this is Farm Land.
Theres a road there about 8 feet under water
Id be surprised if the cm5 goes above 30% usage.
Currently idle sitting at 5%. That 5% is probably all the webcam since no hardware acceleration.
That settles it. Plug a 5090 into the Microwave
5% is too much
If you’re buying.
I only bought a 5070 for myself why would i buy someone else a 5090?
The 3010 berserker is keeping the CM5 perfectly cool btw. Cool to see the rpm of the fan too. It’s sitting at ~3k rpm most of the time (temp target of 55c) out of 10k rpm.
Have you seen the new Goliath Lite? I dont like the name since its the same size
i do as well, also sorry for necro
wow that's a whole month necro
also @pine delta finally somewhat back to 3D printing! fixed v2.7390 and it's printing better than ever.
Finally good bed adhesion after throwing away my fysetc pei sheet and going with West3D
and I fixed the bent gantry issue. Just retightened everything, swapped to new belts, and made sure the belts were equal length. Seems to have worked perfectly
Hey @raw sorrel quick question. Is there anything stating that I can’t move the smooth idler 0.1mm closer to the drive gear for the extruder on UAP? I feel like it needs a little more squish.
Go for it. it was working for me but there isn’t really a great standard between bmg gears so it’s possible yours might not be the same dimensionally as mine.
Cool. Wanted to be sure before printing it off in PCCF. It’s working for me right now but I almost wonder if it’s warping slowly due to being printed with Bambu ABS as well. 😅
Also gonna put a ECAS04 to hold the ptfe tube on it. I have no idea how I’m gonna do that but I’m gonna try. Lol
Yeah I was about to say, abs is pretty soft/flexible. I used abs with stranded glass fibers for everything.
That is what fixed it for now. Reprinting the front bearing holder piece in ABS-GF. But I have a feeling more warped than that.
Pccf should be much better suited yeah
Yea. Gonna be fun. First time using it. Granted. It’s Ambrosia PCCF which is closer to ezPCCF but that’s good enough for me.
I can't believe that fit... Lmao
May add 1 more mm to the diameter of it
That's better
I'll feel more confident with that
And not gonna move the smooth idler cause that will take too much effort. Lol
Ready to print. Yes I'm gonna print it on the X1C. I don't have a PT1000 in the Microwave 2.0 so I don't trust it to 290c like I do the X1C
Small update. Old toolhead:
New toolhead:
Also discovered that Bambu ABS doesn’t like being 4mm from a 110c build plate with no part cooling on. 🤣 (left is new PCCF, right is old ABS)
And in case you didn’t see it. The ECAS-04 is black!
How was the expereince printing with the PCCF? Looks like it came out pretty good
I printed it on the X1C using Bambu PC profile but with extruder temp upped to 280c. Printed perfectly on the first try
Dang, that sounds good. I'll have to pick myself up some next time I get filament from west.
It’s so pretty
Well adding that to the list of upgrades for me XD
It looks so good! The ECAS not being blue is real nice too.
Doesn't stick out
Right?! I got it from KB-3D. Ordered 5 actually. Lol. Currently is out of stock though.
OH YEA! I even took the extra minute to actually properly install the PTFE tube inside the toolhead this time!
Swap an RGB fan
whats the part number on this 2510 fan? if it's delta
That’s the berserker 2510 from West3d.
is it quiet?
Maybe I'll get some in the future if I try a different extruder. It looks good on a blacked out toolhead
haven’t been by in a minute, looking very good!
Thanks! Hoping this new toolhead won’t have the same issues as the old.
@pine delta How did you average the temps for the chamber between 2 probes?
Math most likely
lol, Just figured there was a macro for it
Well you can have the Printer cfg do math so its probably just another readout
I figured it out. There is a sensor type for combining readouts.
My configs on my GitHub btw. Lol. In my bio.
Oh yeah!... I forgot 🤣
@foggy trail Haven’t printed parts yet but. The kit has arrived!
Sweet tart ropes? I want to try those.
I’d double check the soldering on any USB extension in the kit as they had some issues before.
There is no usb extension in the kit.
Might have been the v2 kits then.
I am excited. It’ll be fun to try out.
Eventually I’ll get the printer printing again and print the parts. Lol
V1 uses Bluetooth only unless modified. I do believe there is a in place mod that can be done
Really its just the pass though that changes when it comes to the print itself but been a bit sense i looked
Dont forget to get some scorch or similar product. (Cant for the life of me remember the chemical name )
I’ll likely just be using carbon. My chamber is only 60-65c.
If I recall right that's about when to add it, but then again, it's a low mix so, yeah probably fine XD.
now that you've had more time to dial things in, what are your accels and speeds at for quality printing?
Usually 15k for outer walls, 15k for inner, 20k for infill, 30k for travel. Max velocity I’ve been using is 600 for travel. With print speeds in the 40³ flow area.
bassically 2x X1C
Somewhere around that yea. Lol. 50 hours of print time is something close to 120hrs on the X1C.
New toolhead who dis?! 😁
Going slow right now as I need a couple prints done before I can go back to faster printing. Need to support the graphics card in my PC and secure the filament shelf above it to prevent spools falling off.
That’s why my 2.4 now gets put on the floor lol and the v0 is to the point it needs to be strapped down
Lol. This trident isn’t the super speedy one. That’s the trident… right below this one. 🤣. But this one will be used the most so I want to protect my PC and head.
you need to get both working
You buying me a CM5?
No, But dunkin is
That will depend on what kinda raise I get. Lmao.
are you that broke rn
I have bills and as of 1/1 I (until further notice) am now at minimum wage again… it increased to what I’m currently making.
well obviously you need a large raise
time for a new job 🙂
This is very likely going to happen this year. Despite being at Dunkin for 7+ years now.
for 7 years i would hope they would be paying you well
for 7+ years and minimum wage. You Better get a Raise or a New better paying Job
thats gotta be a crime somehow
go into manufacturing
start building printers for people
im 18 have been at the company for 1 year and im one of the highest paid on the shop floor
kinda what i want to do but not even for money just cuz i like building em and people need good printers
I wasn’t minimum wage… but state raised the minimum wage and that went into effect on 1/1.
I make over twice what I started at… lmao.
if you dont mind me asking what is minimum wage i mean also depends what state you are in im in ny and it is not cheap to live
in 1 year my hourly rate has increased be $8 per hour
$15/h.
well you need nmore money
i get more than that. (but i also work alot less hours)
Current living wage here is $20/h.
So yea. Still live with parents cause I literally can’t afford to move out.
i work my regular 40hour week in 4 days with alot of overtime and overtime is pay and half so not to bad
im in the same boat
i just bought a house but i have over 1 year of work on it before i can move into it
I’m planning on requesting a schedule change soon. To 4 10 hours shifts instead of 5 8 hour ones.
Still the same amount of hours. But more time at home
i love having a 3 day weekend
I live an hour away from current work place (but get paid gas money separately and tax free) so I don’t have a lot of home time.
thats nice i mean i live 10 min from work and my brother does a hour and a half commute one way for work... lets just say i spend alot more time home
its $26/h for me
I do 2 hours of commuting per day right now. I could be doing 8 minutes of commuting per day riding a bicycle to work but boss asked if I’d work in this store and I agreed only if he paid my gas. Lol
for me livable is $27.5 hour
i would say fuck it save the money and ride the bike work close
Yea… but free gas.
but realistically that is like $100 a month if you didnt commute 1hour
$200
If by savings. That’d be like $20.
The close by store is ~4 minutes by car, ~8 minutes by bike, ~30 minutes walking distance. Lol.
its also what you value your time at for that drive you know
Heck yea! Much better camera resolution and framerate! Realized I have a CM5 so why not actually utilize it. Lol
Now this is making me wonder if a Jetson Nano as a Pi would be able to do 1080p 60fps.
Probably. This is 1080 30. Camera doesn’t support 60.
Would the Cm5 be able to do that though 🤔
I can garuntee a cheap pc cpu would be able to lol
That's what it's currently doing....
No i mean the 60fps
Ah
Lol
Outlook is good that 60fps isnt a problem
You have no lights in there. You could use a potato and see just as much 😛
I have 114 leds...
You should turn them on then. You light it up so you can see???
Seems so
If the cm5 does that that easily a Jetson nano might be able to do 1440p 120fps
1-100%
Eh too noticeable of a difference
How's this?
Those presets are how klipper can control the leds btw
Wled + moonraker + Klipper = happy mcu’s
Klipper ❌
Kalico ✅
Same same at the end of the day. Lol. I moreso mean the way to control the LEDs. Just using Klipper or Kalico to control eats into precious resources.
well within for the leds yes within the motion heck nah
Nah. When using Klipper or Kalico to control LEDs with led effects motion becomes too much and you get a TTC error. 🤣
what i was meaning was for controlling leds pretty sure kalico and klipper are the same. within motion of the machine there are differences between kalico and klipper
Ah. That I have no clue. Lol.
well there is diferences by quite a bit actually the whole algorithms been rewriten
I have been in tool and die for 44 years now. Younger guys are now making really good money. I remember starting out at 7$ an hour back in the day. Now I was talking to my neighbor's kid and he is 19 and making 29$ an hour with full benefits as an apprentice at GE. There just aren't young people that are willing to join the trades anymore (besides welding)
If xiar is willing to apply for some manufacturing jobs I bet he would have a really good shot at making 10$ more an hour over Dunkin.
Here’s the thing. You can say that about young people all you want. But jobs don’t hire people like they used to. I applied to over 60 places before getting the job I have now.
It dawned on me. Apparently when I reinstalled the CPAP tube I rotated it perfectly to no longer need to print a tophat to stop it from slapping the top panel. Score!
Whatcha making?
Filament storage dowel holders. (Middle dowel is held down with a bungee to prevent spools from falling over). Needed something to hold the spools better because of the vibrations from Microwave 2.0 knocking things on my head off the shelf above. Lol. Still need to print at least 1-2 more sets I think but I need to get more dowels to finish it too.
60? That is terrible! I hope you find a decent job somewhere. Good luck. Sounds like you are going to need it in your area.
Yea. We’ll see in a few days about if I’m leaving the current job or not.
Are you in america?
Yea
in a city?
Yep
yeah that will do it
you will either have to drive an hour or compete with a gazillion other people
I drive an hour ½ 1 way to work. But it appears today's gonna be a bit longer
First set of stealthmax parts sent to the printer!
Newly discovered. Need to avoid 150mm/s. That’s an annoying sound. Lmao.
That's not terrible.
Plate 5 will take 13 hours… that will be a true test of the microwave for sure.
@graceful bloom First off.
Second. Have you printed Stealthmax yet? If so. How long for that carbon basket? (I seem to recall you talking about it at one point)
Dang. Now I wonder who I was talking to about it… lmao.
Welcome to the Microwave build. Lol
ive talked about the pritn time just never actualy pritned it
yay!
Ahhhhh. Fair.
yea :3
Well it’s about 1.25 days of print time for all of it for me. Lmao.
its a while for shure lol
It took me 16 hours for SMS.
Total or just the carbon basket?
Just the basket.
Made me concerned I had my settings bad somewhere.
If you had said total I would’ve been very confused. Lmao
Also, I’d suggest switching to slicer painted supports on the lid piece. 3/4 attempts failed after 1 hour and 1/1 worked perfect with slicer support.
Which lid piece?
Ah. The one I need the X1C to print. It’s too big for this printer.
Everything should fit in a 250mm printer.
That part does not fit on 250x242. Lol
X1C is my next biggest at 256x256. So it will fit there.
Rotate 45 degrees after the export?
Tried that as well. Also didn’t fit. Lol
You did not want the flow chamber in [a]?
I only get 1-3 hours with the silver once it’s out of the dryer… 😅. It’s that hygroscopic. Lmao.
Indeed. I pulled it out of the dryer once, got side tracked, threw to print in the microwave just 4 hours after pulling it out and it was wet again. Lmao. I’m buying a spool of gray next time.
Screw metallic colors. Lmao
You may want to enable the fan wire plug in your flow chamber export.
Yea I saw that. I also saw a spare one in the stl list. I may just print the spare one to avoid any printing issues.
I hope the built in support works well for you on the flow chamber. Both prints I have done have had some detachment but it made a useable print. (They are stock)
So far in prints I’ve done I haven’t had an issue with built in supports on anything. In theory. I only need the supports in the middle round area to survive. The front ones I think CPAP has enough power to bridge that gap.
We’ll find out Monday how it goes. Lol
Plates are named for when I feel I can print them without having to listen to the printer while I sleep. Granted it’s quieter than the X1C, I still don’t want to listen to it while I sleep.
Print finished well! All the latches work except for the one I broke taking it off the plate.
Orca has a feature for that too lol
Yep. I will be using it. Lmao.
Lol. I would too
So satisfying to watch 27³ just screaming. Lol.
I need to design a cover the screen… it’s pretty bright when the printer is just sitting idle.
Have you ever thought about setting up Timelapse on the Microwave if you havent already
Yep. And I don’t really want to
Timelaps is very cool and i want to post videos of prints and such, but given the quality degradation, feel like recording then popping it into an editor would be better. Mine can do stop motion/time laps. Though there is the file size issue with long prints
@foggy trail For future reference. Stealthmax S holds ~1.5lbs of 4mm pellet carbon. 🤣
So much carbon! Lol. Did you test it to see if it would corrode the metal?
(just asking because i think i saw you went with something other than nevermore)
This is carbon tested by others before me to be safe.
It’s acid free and safe for printers.
Ohhh gotcha, big brain.
Is it cheaper than nevermore stuff?
Also nevermore carbon is out. Like. Everywhere. Lol.
These guys will do smaller quantities as well. https://activatedcarbondepot.com/products/zeolite-hs-600-60-lbs-1-cubic-ft
Just email them.
That’s who I bought from.
Just via Amazon to get it fast.
That should be the same/similar to scorch
Do you have a link to the temp listings for different temps and what to use?
The mix ratio?
Price aint bad nice
Yea per temp in the chamber.
It’s worse on Amazon. Lol.
But I wanted it quickly.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/358033202578 this is also one of the vendors here.
As all things are XD. I got my nevermore stuff on sale from west and it was about that so a smidge more for amazon tax is probably still good lol
I found the ratio's in the nevermore discord. Lol
Then my phone died.
I'll try and print in the 50-60c range for now. Perhaps in the future I'll get scorch or whatevers similar
That’s gonna get hit with import costs isn’t it…
I just did a 50:50 mix of my bag of filter food and filter food prime (DFH).
I think it starts in the US so 🤷♂️
Yea but they are in Canada. 😅
The carbon is made in China though so that gets tariffs.
Shipping a US made product back over the border.
Where the product matters, not where it was shipped from.
Plans for today. 1) Install stealthmax and get it powered somehow (I have no idea how I’m gonna get 12v other than to redo the firmware on the M8P to have a fan port stay always on and set to 12v) 2) Fix these stupid graphs 3) Perhaps make my first resonance post.
This didn’t work even one time back on the CB1… I can now load the webcam view on my phone via mainsail. I am also at work so tailscale ftw.
Never underestimate a $1 knife. 🤣. Cut right through the ACM. Lmao.
Quick test for before going on the printer. Absolute perfection.
Okay. Plans for today have ended. 2 and 3 will wait for tomorrow while the stealthmax sensors calibrate.
But. Got the Stealthmax installed!
Right on the side of the printer where I said it was gonna be. Lol
Honestly those 1 dollar blades are nuts as long as the plastic hasn't broken yet. The blades do rust but they work quite well
BTW a note I missed when I built mine, and didn't see it at all in the CAD the first time. These holes are for mounting the filter to the frame.
Kind of looks like you did it already, but I full on missed it when I built mine and run it just hanging there for a HOT minutes XD
Yep. I already figured that out. Lol
My only concern now is that something may up with the sensors. Perhaps swapped by accident somehow. Or something else. Cause this is during calibration period and according to the docs should be around 100 in the end.
And I feel like that should be reading roughly the same when no fan is on and it’s just sitting idle.
Eh. Can always just go get another $1 knife from harbor freight anytime. Lol
Do you have the carbon basket and stuff out of it? (It's been a while sense I did it but I recall you taking it out and airing out the printer)
True. I'm a sucker for a good knife though lol
mine of course has the basket in with very used carbon, probably time to switch that out, but mine are almost never the same on the in and out
Even when the system has no basket and fans off
I did see to air out the printer. Which I haven’t printed in a couple days so that wasn’t a problem. No where said to take out the carbon though. Mines fresh carbon though too
Just looked at it, didn't see it either, probably just remembered wrong. Apologies. It actually said to open it air out then close it lol.
I probably had taken mine out due to having to recalibrate it.
How long have you been calibrating for?
Going on… 21 ish hours now.
I might take it out and see if the exhaust value drops. May redo the calibration if it does.
I'm trying to remember my setup. I do recall some stuff that I thought was weird, but exactly what made me feel that way I can't recall sense I wanted to get back to printing XD.
But either way, might be worth checking. It's also probably good to note, that the prints are newish and might still be offgasing more than expected.
I think I noticed with mine, just over use, that sometimes the values when idle can be strange especially when I first had it set up
I’ll probably do a print first anyways. I wanna see if the sensors do read correctly and show increasing values appropriately.
I’m gonna run the checkpoint command here in a bit and run a print. I know from reading the docs it’s constantly calibrating when not printing and doesn’t restart calibration until ~15 minutes after a print finishes.
Lol. Ours are reading about the same atm.
That is wild, considering my carbon is very used and if I stick my head in the printer I'm 90% sure I'll still get a good whif of chemicals XD
I actually forgot it did that, it is a very nice piece of software, for it's use it does well. (even with the disconnect issue)
But thats probably a good idea. Reality I guess is, that it's all relative numbers, and as long as it turns on and off when it should, your good to go. Mine right now likes to stay on a lot due to the old carbon I think.
Yea. But I wanna be sure the numbers at least actually do what they’re supposed to do. Lol.
Eh, gif wasn't the best choice but works XD
Need to play with settings but sensors work. 🤣 . IPA in the air was enough to increase the VoC index
Lol Seems to be in working order then XD
Started a print anyways. Quick Voron cube to test out the new build plate and the sensors.
And the filter itself ofc.
You have it printing at max speed?
Nah. It was never meant to do max speeds. Lol. It’s barely using the full capability of Goliath.
I wonder if I have them swapped somehow...
Need to take out the carbon and blow on the exhaust one to find out
So pretty much what mine will be on chube lol.
Is Microwave going to be your "stable" build?
It is and has been. Lol. It's the printer more or less to replace the X1C
DOWN WITH BAMBU
Very odd..
Looking at most of the pics in the nevermore server it seems that the larger VOC index value is consistently on the right... But that doesn't make sense to me since that would be the exhaust which should be cleaner...
It does seem to be working though!
Seems as though only the values on top are swapped. Which is weird
Now that you mention it, I had the same thought myself. but kind of just got used to it.
Though I guess in a way it makes some sense if you consider it is pretty much in static air while the intake isn't... IDK though, it's confusing
I feel they should be flipped. Since the first value should be the incoming air and the second should be the filtered.
I do too, but I'm trying to I guess find the reason. The way I'm thinking is that once the air is cleaned and back into the printer, it will have a bit of a lower VOC, because volume and it being well. clean, so then in turn the intake, with the larger volume of air, is reading the way it is
So air quality might actually be better, but given the volume of air might be the issue
Okay. My chamber is definetly hotter than the thermistors are reading...
That's no good XD, or good depending on what you consider. Better temps or wrong temps XD
A little of both. 🤣
Cute little flexi stitch print.
I'm going to need that file XD
How'd I know someone would say that. 🤣 https://www.printables.com/model/1521513-flexi-stitch
I have so much stitch stuff so it would have to be me XD
Same. Lmao
LOL, for christmas, along with some tools, I got stitch earbuds, PJ pants, and a little stitch light thing. XD
Oh yea! @hollow hemlock The Stealthmax has a serial now! SMS.018!
NICE, you got a fairly now number too! Though I don't know how many actually know you can get serialized...
Only 18 cereals?
Not many probably know you can serial you filter.
Also, not many build the S. I have SMS.17 on #1317678719485083748 and it has been many months since a serial was issued.
Aka. My serial was the very next one. 🤣
I'm not sure how many even know of the nevermore discord, let alone using the seriel request XD
OH! In good news now! I can finally run the Goliath at its full flow if I want to! I needed to wear in the UAP as it was a little rough for the extruder to turn. After a few prints it’s back to its full function! Purging at 25mm/s is hilarious.
~60³ flow
There’s a reason I have an emergency stop button.
Ohhhhj🤭
There’s also a reason Hexdent has had to have an emergency stop switch replaced…. You wouldn’t imagine the reaction timing you need to stop a printer that does 1200mm/s at 70k accel when it just skipped a step because you forgot to mechanically sync the motors. 🤣
Oooooooo😬
That was the same time Hexdent ejected a rail stop across my room… it was a rail stop mounted by hammer head t nut in the extrusion. It was at that point I realized that thing is barely touching its maximums. Lmao
I need to learn this stuff
I think ive got comfortable
Take Sub0. Give it 5160 drivers, 56v, and a Chube. Voila. You’ve learned how to be crazy.
This sounds almost like #1317678719485083748 message
Only it’s crazier cause 40³ build volume going brrrrrr would be just hilarious. 🤣
Yes. It’s how I know Hexdent needs some work. 🤣. Not even tuning work. Just testing of its maximums finally.
5160 say 48v will they take 56?
Btt TMC510T pro are rated for 60v. I run them at 56v.
That’s not the pro drivers
Found them Thankyou!
These are what I run. https://a.co/d/fIdbJhr
sounds like a joy to share a space with
Working on the brrrr this time😋
Not everyone sits directly next to their printer all day long :P
Something tells me that is audible throughout the house
I’m thinking that’s a HOA violation
Of the HOA seven houses away even
Lmfao
Wait till your cooking in the morning and IS is running and you watch your breakfast rattle across the table lmfao
Depends if your house is made from paper or bricks
Straw
The big bad wolf blew mine down
The first tall print on Microwave 2.0!
This may or may not be something adorable that @hollow hemlock will probably want the link for.
@hollow hemlock what a good test print for height! He’s adorable!
Tail came out great too!
200mm tall
Now how much room is there under the bed after that print
About 10-20mm.
Z build area is ~210-220. I haven’t figured out the absolute maximum.
Cutting it real close (as my Mini finishes a print.with 1mm to spare on Z 😅 )
Lol. I’ve done 120mm prints on the v0 before.
The MiniSB toolhead just broke from a collision on my V0 so now im waiting on a printer that can print ABS to arrive
Ouch
It arrives Thursday lol. CartoV4 arrives today though
Last print before it broke though. Lol 30k 15mm³
I like the noises it makes with interpolate off
It's slightly quieter than before I spent the 4 hrs for chopper tune to do its thing. But man, I miss my old deltas, which could be silent.
Homing after that print was annoyingly slow. 🤣
I was thinking it might be a pikachu, but a stitch pikachu was not on my list, That is adorable
Here’s the print: https://www.printables.com/model/1546343-stitch-in-pikachu-costume
And now I know what I’m printing next. 🤣: https://www.printables.com/model/1546379-pikachu-in-stitch-costume
Their adorable and I for sure need a toolchanger/mmu 🤣
Though i do have an airbrush now that I wanted for this purpose.... Need to get that vent fan already XD they're so expensive
Print one!
You know what’s really cheap and readily available? OUTSIDE!
lol trees they are everywhere they love the paint fumes to 😁
But it's getting cooollllddd then probably really hot XD i did use my fume extractor i have for soldering but its a bit small XD
I'd do that if I had a decent unused fan that wasn't already slotted for use...
Well you do have a 3d printer that could print a temporary housing for a filter to be able to borrow a fan on the occasion you want to air brush something. 😉
That is indeed and option... Hmmm need to power the computer fan unless i can find a random fan we have and dont know about 🤣
I've been needing to get back to learning cad too...
The outside is trying real hard to not be available rn with the windchill
Nah. It’s the 20+ inches of snow coming.
*cries in slush likely coming)
Btw.
(totally not cheating by measuring the snow drift on my balcony)
technically i got negative snow since the ground is ice and crushes down an inch when stepped on
Odd question @raw sorrel . Is there a UAP looking toolhead for Chube Air? I love the aesthetic of UAP but kinda want a third Chube. Lol.
Nah chube would be tough to integrate with how wide it is
Dang. Fair. Guess I’ll stick with 2 Chube’s and a Goliath for now then.
That's a lot of snow! Even if that the drift, its more than I see normally XD
Same, hours turned to solid ice sheets
Yes there is
El fuego
There is a non water cooled version as well
Aire Fuego (Air Cooled Version) should be done this weekend. Just fine tuning the jet ports and plate cooling and it takes forever at 8hrs per CFD run
❤️
Yeah i have been struggling with the cfd stuff as well with my setup
It takes ages
Not really what I want. I want a printed toolhead. Easier and cheaper for me.
Scarecrow has one but it is ugly
Hence why I asked the creator of the toolhead I like. lol.
I honestly strongly recommend an SLM option for the toolhead @pine delta it is so incredibly important to have a strong, rigid toolhead. Unless you only plan to print at sub 200mm/s, in which case, ball out my friend, ball out
Yea my toolhead is plenty strong printing at 600mm/s. Lol.
It always feels like it’s in a rush now. Lol
Yeah slm is also very nice for things like chube conduct.
Btw uap v6 is out now. Aren’t you on v4 or v5?
Wat is UAP
you ought to switch to monolith and a 4040 frame
Why? Lol
Its not exactly a large machine
because
Thats not really a reason
Reason enough, Xiar nuke the machine and dump 300 more hours into it!
Nah xiar machines are great to point to whenever the 2020 noodle allegations fly
I’m aware. I prefer the look of whichever I’m using. I am using a couple parts from v6 though.
Just. No.
Monolith is not the answer to everything. I’m perfectly happy with ATSS nema 14 AWD.
(whispers in your left ear) "but it can be my child"
Usually I'd say enough Donuts may be a fair trade but that dosent really work with Xiar
@whole dagger Scroll up for wiring photos
Not bad for a 15cm ruler🤭
@soft zenith Personally. I'm currently happy with Y. But not X
At some point I'll figure out what's going on here
@whole dew
Huh. After calibrating sync motor's I have now 3 times in a row gotten results below 1k magnitude. Nice
Ayee, so what if I where to just get two more matching moons 17's with round shafts for ease of syncing?
That'd work pretty nicely. Moons are nice and smooth.
And wiring it up, I'm sure if I upped the run current on the stock drivers, they could each run two motors. But I don't think that's a great way to go about it
But that's how dual z used to be done and you sync them up once and as long as they stay aligned they aren't bad
Definitely don’t do that. You need 1 driver for each motor. Especially for motor sync since it forces one motor to turn on each belt to sync the belt tension on both sides of the motors.
If you’re currently using 2209 drivers 2 more won’t cost much.
Yeah that's the drivers I'm running
v2 with a toolhead board should have enough driver slots in the mainboard to run 8 motors.
vT can run without a toolhead board and still only need 8 drivers.
So the kit is like $13, I need belts that's like $20-25, I'd really want to get a CNC carto mount, that's like $20 I'm only missing the driver's, motors and wires
You don’t really need a CNC mount. I’m not using one.
M8p 2.0 has plenty of extra slots
Yeah that's a want tbh
As long as you have a toolhead board you should be good. (Assuming you’re doing this on a v2)
Good printed carriage > cheap cnc mount
Plus printed means you can make changes if you decide to change something. Lol.
The CNC mount directly from carto is $20
Plus shipping. Lol. It’s nice. But a printed carriage works just as well.
Sure for 20lb of tension then printed might fail easily
But for everyone else printed works fine
My only printer with a metal carriage is Hexdent however that’s because the entire toolhead is metal cause conduction hotend. Lol
Yeah okay so maybe later then lol, so $13 for kit, $25 belts, print new mounts, how much are TMC 2209 stepper drivers?
18lbs belt tension ABS-GF carriage survived for about a year till I replaced it cause I wanted it to be metal. Lol. It definitely wasn’t happy when I took it off but it had no issues.
Pretty freaking cheap. Check Amazon or West3d.
These are West 3d prices for everything else lol
One shipping cost is a plus, or a roll of ambrosia
And for belts .. closed loop my beloved
KB-3D sells those here in the US.
2.4m in one belt. I dunno if that’s enough for anything larger than a 250 though. May need 2, one for each axis.
If you spend money, might as well spend it right
350 with monolith will work as well
1 belt for both axis?
As in 2.4m is enough for 2 belts?
Ah. Gotcha. I dunno if one belt will even for a 250 anyways. Lol.
I know it will in the v0.
I doubt it
I don't think it will, barely enough for micron but there's a bit of extra, don't remember how much
Gotcha. So anything not PFA needs 2.
almost definitely
And they are well worth it in my experience
Wonder if the v0 will have enough for belted Z. Lol
300+ 100%, 250 99% sure
My trident has almost no belt walk since installing them
I have none right now.
These are the belts from my trident 350 before I put Hexdent on it. They were plenty long enough for a AWD 250. Lol
Not bad print time so far. Lol
