#Random layer shift?

I just got my printer built. I’ve been trying to print a couple benchys but was having bed adhesion issues because I forgot to wash it . After cleaning the build plate, I started a Voron cube, I didn’t have adhesion issues anymore but I got a random layer shift, I am at a loss at what happened here because after this, I printed a small yawning fox figurine and it printed perfectly.

belts tension correctly? grub screws in the a/b stepper motor pulleys tight? x/y joint idlers too tight? x/y stepper motor current too low?

I used blue loctite on all the grub screws but I’ll double check. I’m not sure of belt tension so that could be an issue. I’ll check all this when I get back home.

I would look at run_current in the printer.cfg file. if it is at .8 I would step it up to at lest 1.0

mine was set at .8.. had the same issue no matter what I did. even with correct belt tension. Went to 1.0 and it stopped the layer shift. I was getting layer shift even with correct belt tension done with a tension gauge.

I did set my motor current to 1 (which is well within range of 70ish% of my motor current spec.)

I still had a layer shifting issue. I adjusted all my belt tensions and realized I had them all way too tight. I got them as close as I could with a spectrometer app on my phone. I plan to buy the parts to build a Pf makes tension gauge soon to verify I got them all close. I no longer seem to have layer shifting problems but now seem to have over/underextrusion. It’s like a bubbly texture is best I can describe it. I forgot to take a picture but that seems to be an entirely different issue.
