#Trident 250, secondary Y peak (solved)

First time trying to tune IS, trying to clear that secondary Y peak. I think belts don't look too bad? But I wonder if that weird peak on the A belt could be the contributing factor (same frequency?)

Should I go forward and print the hollow cube with the recommended IS settings (mzv for both axis)

#

thank you both in advance for your help ๐Ÿ™‚

Before printing I decided to:

  • Run Ellis' TEST_SPEED, with this I got skipping past 6300mm/s^2 of accel so used 6000mm/s^2
  • Did belt + resonance testing after heatsoak, similar results to cold (previous images in the post), but used these values for the IS

Used these print settings

#

I don't think it looks too bad? ๐Ÿ˜„

post your klippy.log please

Rollover first

this was at 6500, at 6000 it's fine :/

ah yes sorry forgot to mention that I ordered the non-printable for it yesterday, should probably get printing the other parts ๐Ÿ™‚

please send pictures of the back of both A and B drives so we see the belt path

I think the path looks OK? Also tried tensioning the belts with the gates app this time, now they sound fine ๐Ÿ˜„ but it still slams into the back when above 6000mm/s, it's weird, it doesn't sound like the belt slips at any place

are you trying to run it at 6000 mm/s (speed)

#

if so it ain't going to do that

vapid plover
#

6000mm/s^2 lol

fossil goblet
#

what speed are you trying to do

vapid plover
#

1000mm/s, it's a bit less than the maximum it could reach with 6000mm/s^2 in this bed size

#

Try slowing down you speed to 500 mm/s

vapid plover
#

that was simple enough! should've read Ellis' guide more carefully, made easily to 10k mm/s^2 without skipping before the other people in the house went to bed and had to stop, I'll do another print with higher accel tomorrow! thank you

So, accel was good up to 11km/s^2 and I stopped testing there, I'm happy with running 10k for movement. Speed skipped at 800 mm/s but using 450 / 500.

#

printed the cube again with these settings, slower speeds, more accel in external perimeters

#

Oh, I ran the shake test again after tightening the belts

fossil goblet

I would call this good - especially at the speeds you are running
