No. They suck. 🙂
Part of the reason I prefer the 2.2 panel clips.
But what helps me is threading the screw in a thread or two, pushing the hammerhead nut back against the extrusion, and then tighten. Sometimes it helps.
It takes a bit of frustration and practice, but once I got the hang of it I found them rather useful for things I may take off and on the printer (while for anything permanent, I use the roll-in ones).
I usually thread them on very lightly (just a turn or two), pop the thing in place, and they tighten right up. But it can be very hard when the screws aren't quite the right length so even when they are just barely threaded on they still catch on the extrusion.
They usually tighten up and turn the full 90° to lock in place, but sometimes they turn a bit less (making possibly a much less secure connection) and it can often be impossible to see it. So I would never want to use them for anything "structural". I still prefer them for things like spool holders, cable brackets, fan/camera mounts, anything that doesn't to hold the printer together and that I may want to move around without leaving t-slot nuts behind.
Seat, unscrew slightly while providing pressure. Then flick-screw it so it rotates.
