#Enderwire Rebuild

This poor thing has collected a lot of dust
Electronics on the way with birthday money and I’m using a btt pi v1.2 that I got from West3d in a witfb.
Current progress of disassembly.
Clearly. This upside down rail is the whole reason this printer got stolen from.
The only reason
I’m excited to get this printer working again. The plan is for this printer (instead of the trident that was supposed to be) to be my ole reliable printer.
Having a reliable printer does help
And don’t realy think the trident is doing that indeed
Do you have any funky plans with it or just keeping it mostly stock?
Well there’s nothing really “stock”. Lol. But I am using SB still for it.
Well that part was incredibly weak. But those 2 screws are stripped so I had to remove it somehow. 😅
Screw stuck on extractor…
First time that extractor set actually worked. 🤣
Top hole is unusable. Bottom hole just needs a shorter screw. Not a problem! Whoo!
Time to move a whole lot of heat sets to the new parts.
Guess I have to follow this one too 😆
At least this one won’t (shouldn’t) last 6 months. 🤣. Should have it printing by Tuesday. Assuming Amazon delivers on time.
Oh very nice, quick rebuild
Yea. With the X1C and very few parts that actually need printed this should go smoothly. As long as I don’t find yet another stuck bolt that is.
Working on some more disassembly right now as well as moving heat sets over to the new parts. I’m disappointed in myself rn. I have found numerous screws that weren’t tight at all and was even missing the anti shock cover over the psu inlet.
Would you look at that. Anti shock cover. Lol.
Those look so much better than the old solid black ones.
An example of why I’m reprinting this entire printer.
Okay. Gonna print my gantry parts (should all fit on one plate) then get started printed deck panel parts. Since those will take 3 hours each and I need 4 deck panel parts. May pause the panels halfway (like after the first 2) and print electronics mounts.
Or maybe panel parts wait till after the printer has electronics… 9.5 hours for the gantry. 😅
Actually you know. I have more than one working printer. Let’s print the electronics mounts on… Doron Velta! (I dunno why Doron. It’s just the only one that’s in use atm. Lol)
cool to see it get some use :p
Yea. I don’t use it often. But it’s nice when I do use it to have it.
I am considering a second X1C in the future though. It’s very handy. Lol.
Definitely fun to watch.
Completely untuned. Still. Lol.
fairsies lol
tuning do be important
ngl would be cool if there ever was a mainline voron delta
Print restarted as I had an issue with the adxl345 and forgot to set the flow ratio and pa in orca for this printer. Lol
That is basically the Doron Velta.
There we go. Proper first layer now.
Getting the btt pi v1.2 setup now. Went with minimal image and am installing the minimums I need with kiauh.
kiauh is so nice for installing stuff ngl
That’s probably the X1C next to it you can hear. Lol.
fair lol
It is. Especially for getting just the bare minimums going.
Why does mainsail change on every freaking install?!
Pi is setup and ready to go. Just need to get the can network on it and it’ll be golden. Obviously I have to wait until I get the can adapter for it to do that. Lol.
Looks like I’m not getting my Amazon delivery today. Stupid Amazon. At least that gives me one more day to finish the rebuild.
Apparently they did deliver! Hooray! lol
I still can’t believe how small the skr pico is. Lol.
Working on greasing the carts and I only wanted to remove one of the rails. This looks funny on such a short rail. Lol.
This rail. Is now the right way up. Lol.
Made a mount for the btt pi and skr pico. The stupid btt pi has different hole spacing than a normal pi. And I didn’t check.
. Time to print another one.
I have decided to swap out the old creality motor and the 2 siboor motors for the 2004s motors I took off the trident.
XZ axis replaced! Whoo! Moves so nicely.
Hooray! A couple of the electronics mounted!
We have a Y axis! Don’t mind the non matching screw. Totally didn’t strip another screw. Not at all. Couldn’t be me.
And that’s all the electronics in the electronics bay now! (Ignore the fan wire sticking out of the psu)
And I was about to start belting the XZ but realized I missed a part for mounting the toolhead carriage. Ugh. Lol.
I have fully installed the heat bed and build plate!
@stoic brook You always comment about my wiring. How’s this?
Had to breathe a sigh of relief when it powered up. Took a second and I got concerned. 😅
Cleaner than mine, although that’s a very low bar lol
Well. Amazon has decided to not deliver my btt Eddy on time. They have delayed it to Thursday. Guess I’m gonna use the old omron for now even though I’d prefer not to.
It ain’t perfect but I got the cable door closed!
My method of preventing bed and toolhead movement when I flip the printer. Don’t want the motors to turn so fast I blow the pico.
Ugh. Probe is too high. Have to move it down. I even set it where the manual showed!
Video of first moves coming soon.
It’s alive!
@solemn ingot Mind sharing with drift this sb front of his that I combined with the hex accent? It’s so pretty!
As wrong as it is. I’m gonna order some winsinn fans to replace all the fans on the printer with. I want it even quieter. This is an old v6 hotend anyways so it should be perfectly fine with a winsinn he fan. Lol.
I’m also gonna be ordering a bolt on panel kit and I hated the vhb style enclosure. Think that will be good.
@bleak gulch Sorry for pinging you so much but this deck panel is gonna look awesome!
indeed it looks awesome!
I was gonna go with aluminum spacers instead of springs or silicone spacers but the mesh was a full mm range. So I swapped back to the silicone spacers and…
Look who has a bottom panel! (And still only 1/4 of a deck panel. 🤣)
@wide oracle It lives again!
The btt eddy for this printer just went out for delivery! Hooray!
Need to actually tune everything but it’s not bad!
The deck panels came out great
Hotend choice I think for if and when I can afford to buy a new hotend.
And pt1000 version. So it’ll make me happy. Lol.
Not really. Just want something with pt1000 and reliable. And isn’t a clamp mount v6. 🤣
Fair lol
If you do wanna switch nozzles more often would highly recomend a .15 nozzle because wow can you make pretty parts with it
Extremely slow but definetly worth it when you need detail
Extremely slow is perfectly fine with this build. Idea is to never turn off stealthchop. Lol.
That’s also why I’m getting winsinn fans for it. They are silent. Lol. They just don’t move a lot of air. So need hotends that won’t mind a 4010 fan. So Revo it is.
Yea Das fair
Wasn't it schlonky who's HEF broke fully broke and revo only clogged after like a couple hours
No idea. I do remember @upbeat zenith obxidian nozzle going plop after becoming a flamethrower. 🤣
Lol
I actually disabled it in the config for something, and forgot to enable it again
I did realize the other day. If it weren’t for the display. There wouldn’t be one board that doesn’t have a rp2040 in the printer. Except for the pi ofc. But it’s running a skr pico (which is rp2040), sb2209/rp2040, and eddy duo (which is also rp2040). If the display also had an rp2040 then there wouldn’t even be one stm32. Lol.
Could work. But this display is a smidge bigger. Lol. It’s got a stm32 display adapter plugged into it. A version of that with rp2040 would be easier.
I’ll be ordering a dark mode bolt on panel kit for the enderwire from KB3D but with clear doors it looks like! Hooray! Just want I wanted.
And I just realized (I thought it was true but couldn’t tell for sure) that the heat block I’m planning on for my Revo has replaceable heaters and thermistors. Even better!
Panel set has been ordered!
i will be sure to pass this on to him👍
Enclosure will be here on the 12th! Hooray!
Carto? How does the mesh look with the bed?
BTT Eddy duo.
Hu, someone actually bought an Eddy
Yesssss. I wanted it to arrive quickly so Amazon. Lol.
I have it running in can.
I'll be putting a Carto on my Legacy, and it'll run my old Ender bed, so nice knowing it works out well
I think eddys cute with a face. 🤣
I just remember the pain that was helping someone on another server with the roginal Eddy USB
Yea. I’m sure it’ll be painful to use as well. But I’m planning on installing EddyNG. So that’ll be nice.
Ran IS calibration on it. Used the toolhead adxl for the Y axis just for fun. I have a Voron cube printing at 3k accel rn.
That’s actually the max accel I was planning anyways. Lmao.
Driftrotor says you have been busy and he loves what you have done with your printer!
Looks like my panel kit will be here tomorrow now! Hooray!
@stoic brook If this doesn’t warp before it finishes then that means my plate is fixed. Whoo!
I have realized a small issue with using these slightly longer motors…
Fixed with a plastic cutting knife. Lol.
