I am planning to get a formbot 2.4 kit, and was wondering if I should use the CB1 included with it and the manta board, or if I should replace it with a Raspberry Pi 3 b+ I have laying around. Are the potential performance gains worth finding new presets, or would that be too complex?

I just finished a Formbot 2.4 Pro+ kit. I went with the CM4 in the Mantra board. Works great. CB1 is still in the box, never used it.

Yep, made sense when you couldn't get real Rpis, but that's not the case any longer.
I spent a little more and got a CM4 with eMMC. I've dealt with SD card failures on Rpis before, and it makes for a bad day.

I haven't played with the Rpi5 yet. I went CM4 on this build to make the CANBUS setup a little easier on the Mantra m8p as CANBUS was very new to me (m8p has on-board CANBUS-to-USB). Have about 30-40 prints and zero issues so far.
