Hi all I am starting to build my Voron 2.4. I am re-using part (many, specially electronics) of the components of my Merc. I was using Stepper Motors NEMA 17 STEPPER OINLINE 17HS24-2104S https://www.omc-stepperonline.com/download/17HS24-2104S.pdf. They perform really well, but they are 60mm tall. If I se this model for all Voron Motors , will I need to alter , adapt or mod the standar frame and design?

Thanks

Not an expert with the electrics, but dimensionally, there is little restriction with the length of stepper used

#

As the rear of the stepper is not captive

#

If the face screw spacing is the same, it should physically fit.

the face of the screws are exactly the same, eve tha shape of the face, it is only the height

The absolute worst case scenario is you needing to raise the height of the bed, but i think it will barely be fine.

mmm, anyway.. I have got two of them and I need 6. What I like of these mottors are the high toreque ante current (0,65 and 2,0) , do you have any suggestion for an alternative?

#

to buy for of those or six of others...

The standard recommendation is to build stock. But it sounds like you're off the path for me to pull you back in.

no, is just the wiill to ve sized enough, but if the recommended option is well proven and well performing... I must trust well tested stuff

You could use different steppers for the z drives and just use the beefy ones on the ab drives.

So, 17HS19-2004S is a nice option, and I get far of trouble...

#

It is what is steted in Zero G BOM

Thanks @Thor I can see extra height will not be an issue , and if I can save a bunch of bucks in this expensive prject 😀 . They worked really well in my Merc. I'll use the stock ones for Z. Also thanks to @Clay and @winter creek any help is like gold for me
