Voron 2.4 upgrade path for multi head printing.

I have a Voron 2.4 , with the afterburner, and I would like to add mods such as multiple printing heads (for example something like https://github.com/DraftShift/StealthChanger ) .

However, I am uncertain on the proper "upgrade path" before implementing the tool changer (since I'm planning to making incremental updates) : modify the gantry to be as similar as the Voron 2.4r2 uses (2 MGN9 to 1 MGN12 linear rail) -> Stealthburner -> canbus -> tool changer ?

Or would you do it differently ?
