#Looking to build M4 extruder

I don't see a reson why not 🙂 You will just have to adjust extruder parameters accordingly.
full_steps_per_rotation: 400 instead of 200.
Thank you. I thought it would be better to use one of those instead of the creality steppers
For Creality stepper you will probably have to remove the pulley and file the flat spot on stepper.
Although the extruder stepper does have removable gear IIRC.
Been a long time I disassembled an Ender 😄
i can definately do that lol
Oh i bought cheap de-pulleeying tools on Amazon, two just in case 😄
Heating the pulley up so it expands certainly helps.
The creality stepper is actually more than good enough, these run beautifully with 1a peak pancake steppers, but your 0.9deg motor will do more than fine too - the gear ratio in the m4 is what makes them so good, not really the motor. I run 4 m4s on one of my printers for a very basic multicolour setup
What do you use to switch filaments?
Just macros and a lot of filament sensors? 😅
Macros and 2-1 adaptors running to the Afterburner dual filament plates that sit in place of the extruder, it took some tuning on the settings in PS for filament changing, but it’s a beast, the only sensors on that one are the runout sensors just before the m4s
This is what I am looking to do with one of my builds. Was looking at the dual input version of the SB with the filametric cutter and dual M4s
I don’t mean to highjack but is the M4 still current ? What’s the pocket watch thing?
It's a smaller bowden extruder for v0.
