#Poor Wall Quality

Im having an issue with wall quality. My 2.4 is printing walls that look over extruded but I have my EM dialed in. I first thought it was a extruder issue so I tried CW2, G2E and an Orbiter all with the same results. The walls are not flat and they are bulging. I have tried External walls first with no change. I see there is VFAs in my prints but it doesnt really explain the poor print quality. Im assuming its a mechanical issue now. With that in mind, I fully rebuilt the printer from the frame up. My Gantry has the tiniest amount of racking like less then 1mm on the right side of the gantry. I have made sure the AB belts are tight and even at 110Hz. That being said, im not sure where to go from here. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried a different brand filament? Also, did you tune pressure advance?

Yeah it happens will all filaments. PLA ABS ASA PETG. Yeah I have lol. I printed the PA tower just to have flat sides to post pics of

I'm not sure what to do from here. I've been over the printer about a dozen time with nothing obvious that is wrong. Very confused on this one.

What infill do you use? -> Does the pattern change if you change infill?

Hmm honestly I am not sure, but going by the picture and the pattern being constant I would suspect an extruder issue, but as you've said you've tried 3 extruders with the same result. You did change the motor aswell with the extruders or did you re-use the same motor?

Yeah, I honestly have no clue and I am just guessing, but my next 2 steps would be to check that the configuration for the extruder motor/driver are correct, and then maybe I would also try to switch the driver on the board with a different driver (maybe the driver is faulty?), I would also try a different slicer that also can't do any harm, but I am guessing you've already tried that

Have you checked your layer time plot in the slicer? I have experienced that big differences in the time it takes to print consecutive layers can have under bulging or over bulging affects. You want the color plot to be as consistent as possible, but if you can't have that, then you want the gradient to be gradual. Just a thought and a different take to consider.

Ill look into this today! Thanks!

After doing my EM test I've noticed there is some extrusion inconsistencies. This is on my Galileo 2 extruder. I swapper back to my CW2 and saw the same thing. I tried a cold pull again to see if there was a clog, but there wasn't. I looked over all my extruder settings in my printer.cfg but nothing stood out. Can't seem to find the reason why the extrusion would be inconsistent.

If you zoom in you can see the "wazy" extrusion lines

What do you thing about the out of center gear thing?
I orderd a one piece gear an i will Report If This Makes a difference

I will Report. The Part should Service Next week

@kindred iris Any updates? I'm curious if the gears helped you.

the gear helped a little...

but G2 is far more improvement
