Hi all, need some help getting my girl running again. I tried to install a chaoticlabs voron tap, I felt pretty good about it too. Until I got to the 17:42 part of Nero's video. My mainsail window does not have a dropdown for endstops. I did try query_endstops and query_probe and they work, but when I push up on the tap to trigger it, the probe is still open. Should I be hearing a clicking noise when I push the tap up? because I am not. I did plug it into the same port on the toolhead board as the inductive probe was. I haven't fully reassembled the SB or homed anything because I want to make sure this works first. Thanks!

Voron TAP is the new toolhead mount for Voron Design printers that allows you to use the printers nozzle itself as an extremely accurate (up to 0.0004mm) reliable bed probe.
In todays video we are installing and setting it up!

@north cedar The endstops are on the Machine page, at the bottom. Not sure why there, but they are. Manually trigger the switch on the TAP, and while holding it, refresh the endstop (the reload icon).

found it thanks! i went through the video twice though and I still cannot get the probe to detect as closed. Here is a copy of my printer.cfg file, please let me know if you see something fishy with it.

@north cedar what toolhead board you use? Also looking at the tap pcb, there should be a LED does it light up?

stealthburner toolhead board by LDO. I do not see any led lighting up on the tap

Is your TAP a V2 or V1?

appears to be a V2

I'm fairly sure that's your probe port, but if I'm correct, your pin out is wrong according to the board.... signal wire is on the +24V rail, ground wire is on your signal pin, and +24V wire is on your GND pin

#

Also, I'm fairly sure the Diode isn't necessary for ChaoticLab CNC Tap....

#

Diode is built into the toolhead board.... I'd try it with the diode inline just in case, but the wires need to be moved on the connector

Nice to see those ferrules on the hotend heater cartridge wires.....

just repinned it like you said. and hot damn it works! lights are on and it changes to red when i push up on it!!! thank you!

when I am not pushing up on the tap mainsail is saying that probe and endstop z are triggered, when I push up they are in the open position. Is that correct?

wait.... to clarify it should be "pin: !PG15" or whatever the pin nomenclature is..... keep in mind the diode might still cause problems (I can't remember how I had my TAP connected before I got my CAN toolhead board), but try the ! modifier on the pin first

added the ! and now it is triggered when I push up on it. going to continue to put it together along with Nero's video. Will mark as solved once I get it up and running. Thank you so much!!

so i see the finish line, but I cant cross it quite yet. 2 things I need to fix- 1 the nozzle clean macro no longer lines up with the brush on the Y axis. I think this is because the CNC Tap pushed the hotend out so I need to move the nozzle/bed forward a little bit.
2- I cant get a print to start. It preheats to the appropriate temp, then it lowers the hotend down to 150 to do mesh bed leveling. right after it finishes meshing it tells me the extruder is not hot enough and cancels it. Probably something needs to be changed in my start macro right?

it's what I use with a little changes and seems to work
