Zero reason to do that imo. It's just using CPU you don't need used.
Can you give us a bigger picture, what are you trying to do, and why do you want a desktop on there?
That would necessitate a monitor connected all the time, to be able to use the desktop. Same with kb and mouse.
I'm having issues connecting headless to my network
And I just want it to connect
The pi isn't launching with the fresh install of the new SD card image
You'd just need a monitor connected then. Desktop wouldn't get you anything
Yea my adapter cable is lost ATM for the micro hdmi
I'm looking for it but I figured If I found if I found it I could just desktop and skip the Hassel of connecting to the network
Have you setup the wifi when installing the image? Sometimes it's just easier to reinstall.
Yes I tried everything
I am having this exact issue with a fresh install from the imager version 1.8.1. I cannot get wifi connection.
Ethernet works for me. Just tried hotspot and nothing shows up under connected devices.
well if ethernet works, ssh into it that way and verify the wifi stuff from there
I can see the wifi signals and edited the wpa_supplicant.conf file again... I had an extra space in my ssid I didn't realize was there. finally got it.
I hope this helps @torn urchin
well now! good catch
on to my next problem then.😆
A desktop isn't really a useful way to run an off-network printer in most cases
More likely, you want klipperscreen (which is a specialised desktop, more or less)
And possibly my plugin 😛
