All damage to heat-dissipating armor from heat-causing weapons is halved (round final damage up) and the
heat dealt by such weapons as well as all other external sources (including fire) is reduced to 0. The only exception is magma.

The heat generated by entering or occupying magma hexes is nullified, but the damage is unaltered, and a ’Mech with this armor can still become bogged down in magma.

Ooooh

#

So Plasma Rifles deal half-damage

supple sun

Yup and no heat

Still not sure I'd use it, but it definitely needed the buff: even now, this remains the weakest armor type in the game outside deliberately-inferior things like Primitive Armor

#

Reflective armor still halves plasma damage, right?

supple sun

Could see this being used for TSM builds so you don't have to care on externals

hardy lava
#

Ah, but they removed the heat effects

#

I agree with that completely, that was honestly a shock when I noticed it

I mean you might cause 14 external can throw you up to 25 total heat

That's a very weak rationale for choosing this armor over standard

#

So. Heavy.

I mean its one of the few choices where I might look at it but......

The TSG-10L thanks CGL for their service to the Confederation. The other HD armor users are still bad, of course, but at least they’re a bit less bad now that it's not strictly better to just pile on more DHS. Also means it operates basically the same as BA fire-resistant armor, making it easier to remember the rules and having a nice bit of in-universe continuity between similar techs.

I really, really love plasma rifles so now I have to be very wary of anyone that knows this and chooses to employ this armor against me

Credit to LiaoScot for the specific implementation: it wasn't unified with the BA treatment before.

I really love plasma as well, but given the "quality" of 4/5ths of the canon designs with it, and the costs to cary it on customs... Not really that concerned about it showing up frequently in the future, even with this buff

Im with Disher. I dont see many negatives to one of the scariest guns. This armor would hurt to play against with those

The big negative to plasma is that it's BVed as if it does 17 damage all the time, not 10+1d6 heat to the most common type of target (with most targets having DHS)

I mean it makes sense for the armor to be good against it, that would be a topic for the Plasma Rifle rather then the armor
