Respectfully, you're absolutely goated. I love the shading you did with the pillows, the hair, the crease in the clothing and the arm gloves/bandages it's very impressive and i can definitely see the vision to where you wanna go with this, I love the yearning look, the intimacy and the tension this is giving!

I think, you're already doing very well. Imo, I think it looks a bit cramped in a way.

In the reference, it's open, free and up to interpretation which you have done so very well. Them laying on a sofa is superb.. however that comes with its cons.

Like you also have to take mind that she's laying on his left chest. Leaving no room and his bicep, it would be squashed between her head and the backrest so that's a bit icky, maybe. That's why it feels a bit off. Like I suppose, that's the difference between the reference and the thing you're going for.

It's open and while you're are quite closed off and the positions are different.

The reference is she's not laying on top of the male character and they aren't in a sofa(which limits the space given)
