Aww cute! I would say that you shouldn't use pure black for coloring (unless it's actually part of the design).
The design has a recognizable silhouette, so you've already done a good job in design.

Ahhh that’s awesome!??!??!!! In my opinion, I’d add some orange if you can because blue and orange are a very powerful complementary pair so it would make your art stick out more
