this is a self portrait with main topic “being transparent, empty in some sense and open, defenseless” but i just cant make it look interesting and focused at it being a self portrait

I feel light is a main contributor for this peice try to reaaally focus the light a certain way like almost a hard light

I just experimented
And end up with this
And im happy about it
I lost some of the body but we know its still there and the background is connected to the piece, the background before just was for no particular purpose, so my advice to anyone struggling with your art just think of it as an puzzle and try hard to make everything connect to each other
Oh and with those chages i menaged to keep the portrait there so every aspect is achieved

Yeah but the problem will still be there if i was to do that, the light would totally eat the portrait and there would be no balance at all
