I’m working on a big oil painting for my school and I was wondering if theres anything off about the values of the horse that I’m painting. Now, I’m using a reference that has a white horse, so the values are going to obviously be darker on mine but I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Hi!! this is like super late, and your painting is aamzing!! I am by no means an experienced enough artist to be critiquing this, but i am an equestrian and i just kinda wanted to brng this to attention (jsbecause you said you were planning to round out the neck to look more structually similar to the reference), and maybe while you're at it you could add more definition to the jawline? It's just that when a horses neck is curved, more of their facial structure tends to be lke, forward? if u get what i mean. ou can see in the refereence with the curve in the neck, his head is more seperated from his neck

u totally don't have to take this advice, and im just puttin it out there. it's an amazing painting, adn i LOVE how you rendered it
