I was initially going to shade it a cool-tone grey but now that I look at it I don't know if I should shade it a dark color, red, or the original. My references are the pink dragon for lighting and the black/red dragon for color. I'm also looking for other advice on lighting and realism.

Most lizards that dragons are based off of have a lighter underside and darker or more vivid outer scales. You can consider coloring it that way
