try adding a tertiary color. pink straight to blue (very warm right into very cold) can create a gray blur that isn't very pleasing to the eye. But pink into a violet into a blue can work better.
also, i think both colors can stand to be slightly more saturated but that's an opinion, not necessarily advice.
