______...
i would go insane too
Ahh I see
I mean I can draw the folds I just can't paint it
whats the difference
just dont include the outline
i know this is easier said than done
and i know youre frustrated
and this is coming from someone whose worse at art than you
When I draw the folds it's just an outline
I can't really paint it. I need it to have that painty look
And why not? That's what I want my art to look like?
I don't
i mean dont paint the outline
I can tell the lighting is from the top left, I think more depth in the shadow areas might help? The cloth looks fine but if you're bothered maybe try out with cell shading but blurring out the end points?
I could try the cell shading thing but I'm scared it won't look good enough
I meant I can't paint clothing at all. I'm not trying to paint the outline
That looks pretty right, I usually cell shade and then blur it after so it looks smooth, you could even experiment with smudge brushes for fur texture? (haven't used ibis in a long time so idk how it is now)
Wait let me make an example really quick
I use clip studio but Im pretty sure ibis should have a blur filter
You can fully blur the edges you want with a blur brush/tool if you want to aswell but one way I make my shading smooth is layering it with its duplicated blured versions (sometimes different colors for light effects)
For the cloth shading I suggest having some shading near the neckline to indicate how the cloth lays and folds
For clothing I usually leave it darker by the edge thats closer to a bigger fold, alot of it is triangles and shadows following it by the edges that arent in the light, I sometimes shade it all and erase the parts that I think the light would hit if I'm struggling
