Hellow - so maybe you guys can help me out here. I started shading this guy but somehow... no matter if I put more or less wrinkles on his face, I just don't like it. I don't know if and where I'm going wrong.
(the hair and clothes are not shaded yet and highlights are also missing - the background is unfinished too)
i quickyl did the highlights to see if they will improve it... i mean they kind of do but it still lacks something. is it just the eyes, do they need more smokey-ness or am I overlooking something severe here ?

i think its the hair, like adding some highlights in the hair....and i think you should use some light in the background too. but also black isnt the best colour for shading, i think its best if you were to use a purple for the shading

the shading is actually a very dark red-ish tone but maybe I can crank the saturation up a bit more.
Idk I still think something is wrong with his face. Maybe the shadow are all too soft, I'll experiment a bit on this
Or maybe the nose is too narrow or the eyes too small... idk man something bugs me

yeah i mean its hard since the character is supposed to have fair skin and a fair blonde hair tone and he is supposed to stand in front of his wood workshop so.... LOTS OF BROWN
(at least hes wearing a blue shirt )
its someones OC so I can't just change that : D
