I think you should try to lineart the background, it doesn't matter if it's messy or not. (this is a recommendation, u don't have to take it)

but drawing a background at a first time, it looks great! it comes along with the character very amazing!

to me personally the background is a bit too distracting, as the other person said i recomend doing similar lineart as you did on the oc!! also to make the oc stand out more and be easier to be seen i recomend to make the outter outline a bit thicker :D
