honeycombs would look very pretty on the background
I'll try that and send what it looks like
Ideas
Plus when I do draw it, the character stands out oddly
oh did u want the characters to blend in?
A bit, like sometimes if you just place a character in a scene they pop out weirdly
Pretty much what I have, but idk how to feel abt it
Like an old background I tried, I hated it sm, but it also popped weird
oh that totally makes sense flowers wouldnt hurt if you played more with complementary colors to make the two in front pop more and u could blur it less! try some greens harsher lights from sunbeams maybe?
I dont think I completely understand
ill find some examples
okay sorry dont havr my ipad cant make it transparent
but essentially complementary are on opposite sides of the spectrum
with how light the drawings are
i recommend a dark background for more contast
contrast
and then a light source leading in onto them so that they are still light (albeit with a little more shading for the shadows)
itll make them pop out much more while also looking apart of the piece/background
i recommend a taller canvas so you can experiment with moving them around some more
having the viewers eye start with the characters at the top or bottom or look down adds more to the piece
i didnt use this method either myself til taking ap art this year and it is helpful for the piece and helps almost guide the viewers eye
i hope this made sense if im still confusing let me know and ill elaborate further
Still a little confusing, but I'll definitely try it, I dont have too much experience drawing real backgrounds often, so gonna be awhile before I send my wonky results
I try to use the golden spiral for poses but never fully understand it, let alone for backgrounds
it will still have the same effect if you simplify it and make the background more stylized! the main focus is the shading and light sources! itll look great
My brain struggles to simplify and messes stuff up by over complicating it, but ty for the confidence boost-
a lot of art is very confusing i totally understand and sometimes its about finding your own technique and other times its piece specific! its looking great so far
let me get my ipad ill try to help
tryna download it as a timelapse rn hang on sorry BWHAHDHDH
while i wait essentially want i wanted to show u was u could just block it in an add smaller details and it gives the same effect, more details than what i added but still pretty messy and blur it a little and itll look just fine, + i tried to put notes to explain the depth piece
its very plain but its not the main focus so it doesnt take away from the piece evn if its messy
also opacity on the little things at the end i didnt do cuz i forgot opps
lops
oops*
but the honey comb idea the person wasnt terrible either if you dont wanna do a whole background BWAHAHHD
Ty ty, definitely gonna try, you made it look so easy
once you start itll feel easy too i promise
ouu the window bg is pretty!
Or combine some
So my man results, which is best, or should I attempt a different bg?
gorgeous!! the second to last one looks great! try that one?? that or the 4th one ^^
I tried to combine it, but like this? Or is this over powering?
looks great, see if u cant colorbend a little and add some purples? that might help
I tried to add some purples and shade a bit, but idk if I shaded well enough, but I really really appreciate your help sm
omg its gorgeous
great job!!
Ty ty, last question is should I put a frame around it? Like these
Kk, tysm for all your help!
