i’m very open minded and lmk any suggestions and ideas on how to improve my drawing !
i usually watch youtube videos and that’s how i kinda have an idea of highlights and stuff
A few suggestions I have
-when shading try your best not to bring down the shade too much, id suggest either increasing the saturation then taking down the shade a bit, or finding a complementary or analogous color and doing the same. (depends on style, what your going for and what makes u happier!)
-A little tip that i've learned some time ago is also not to have straight-out white when coloring and highlighting, If u add a slight hue to the highlights, eyes, etc. It will give the same effect whilst also bringing the colors together better.
-last suggestion, the neck seems a bit long but then again, it really depends on style and how you like to draw!
If u check out Bluebiscuits, she explains all this and the color theory much better.
Hope this helps <3
THANK YOU SO MUCHH YES I HAVE TO LOOK INTO COLOR THEORY TYSM
Yes ofc, I'm glad I could help ^♡^
I'm liking the character and the pose. But there are some anatomy issues I'd like to address
- I'm guessing u wanted to have her head be very tall and thin, but it's a bit too much. If I were to trace the shape of the head, the skull would be too out of proportion, so it is important to keep the bone structure in mind when stylizing a character.
- the neck and collar bones are wonky. It's hard to explain the structure, but I've repainted it to show u
- the cleavage is too high, and not centered
- the arm on the right (our right) could use more form, define the shoulders, upper, and lower arm.
- add some light to the black dress to match the rest of the lighting
