oh, i was just trying to separate her from the background while using the glow, does it look off? are there other ways i can do that?

You should make it look natural
To separate the subject and the background you can try to make both unique in ways you can think of, different color pallets, different lighting, etc.
Don’t like use artificial ways in making the subject more focused on
Idk how to explain it well but
Try to think of a camera
You could blur the background a lil’bit
Or increase the shadows, contrast, whites, blacks (Don’t take this literally, something like an analogy)
