Lots of my art looks similar and I want to know how I can improve. Any advice on anything is appreciated!

i think the face and neck need some shadows
rn the head looks flat due to the lack of shadows on the neck (the jaw kinda blocks light from reaching some of the neck)
and for the face i suggest adding shadow on the left side of her face because the nose juts out and blocks light from reaching that side
the shadows dont have to be extreme cause shes faced towards the light but a little shadow could help

I think it's the messy lines. The scratchy sharpie-lined face doesn't match with the flat brush hair. Black doesn't work as an outline here (look at the ears).

Person above is right. Colors need more contrast and defined

How to fix:

  1. Identify light source (plz). And also make colors more bold
  2. Redo the line art, it looks scratchy, and black is out of place.
