#just starting to learn and wondering why it feels off and how I can improve

I forgot to mention about how I want to improve on figure drawing, dynamic poses, and anatomy
I would recommend stronger lines you’ve got a good start I would study anatomy (I’d recommend that to everyone really) but first I’d just practice linework and if you’re up to it doing basic studies for example basic figure sketching or studying how muscles act and interact I wish you the best of luck great job so far 😄
Yup, anatomy is a really important skill to learn early on.
Try doing some really quick gesture drawings as practice
Before you really dig into anatomy, it’s important to have an understanding of shapes, structure, and manipulating those things to give you your foundations for anatomy. So many artists start out practicing how things look instead of understanding how 3D shapes behave (myself included) and this translates to a drawing that looks flatter. Since you’re just starting out now’s a good time to learn these skills and start with drawing different shapes in perspective. YouTube has a lot of really good tutorials, one vid I like in particular is this one here! https://youtu.be/6T_-DiAzYBc?si=8DtJXpxIbhv5UZXQ
Gesture drawings, like Mel said, are also really helpful!

This drawing is gooooodddd❤️ one thing i can say is that if your trying to learn anatomy, a easy way to start learning is to draw shapes ( 3d and 2d ) over and over and try curving them until you can compare them to actual body parts. then try redrawing images of poses and that should help!❤️

It’s good just some sharper lines would save you
Checkout chommang_drawing 's channel for simple anatomy if proko is too complicated
The torso needs to be thicker relative to the legs, and dont worry if your not perfect at the start, i took me 3 years of nonstop drawing to get where I am today (im still far from perfect). Just keep going and you’ll succeed.
im a rookie artist and doesnt have much say in anotomy, but i feel the torso looks a little extended, or lanky.
