Welcome to the Pokétwo daycare! Here, you can leave pokémon for a chance to produce eggs if they're compatible, and gain XP in the process. Offspring hatch from these eggs, inheriting various traits from their parents!

If two compatible pokémon are kept in the daycare, there is a chance they'll produce an egg as you catch pokémon. The more compatible they are, the higher the chance. If you don't want your pokémon in the daycare to gain XP / evolve, you can equip them with XP Blocker / Everstone respectively.

How compatible they are depends on four things, things you don't have any control over for your individual pokémon: parents having different original owners / being same species / having a discovered and at least 1 common egg group / having opposite genders. All pokémon (regardless of gender) are compatible with Ditto (except another Ditto), as long as they have a discovered egg group. Pokémon with an undiscovered egg group can't breed no matter what.
