This is your starter progression team. Fraise you need to invest in to progress the story. Choco and Vanilla are current rate up banners and generally solid units. The other two units you want strong SSRs that you will later use in your elemental teams, like Akdut and Sakura. If you don't have them, use whatever you have. The unit skills don't matter so much as the fact that they are SSRs

Do NOT invest in 4-star or 3-star units!
Due to how base stat scaling works in this game, a fully invested 4-star unit will be weaker than a half-invested 5-star unit. So always build a team of all 5-stars if possible, even if they are off element or do not synergize!

Because the game has elemental towers, you will want to build 3 unique teams. These unique teams will also be wanted for GvG later.

This is your WIP Sweet team. There's only 2 SSR front liners so your 3rd can be a random 4-star that you minimal invest in until a new 5-star comes out. Sorbet is actually a better pick than Vanilla but since you're invested into Vanilla, just use her. Muffin would be your frontline carry and Sakura should be your backline carry

This is your WIP Passion team. There's 3 SSR front lines but no SSR backline. Because resources are limited, just pick two SR back lines of your choice but do not invest heavily into them. For frontline, focus investment on Choco cause she's the main team carry

This is your WIP Pop team. Akdut is the primary carry so focus resources into her. The two SSR backlines are support, doesn't really matter as much as Akdut

In terms of general team building, you ideally want one primary frontline carry and one backline carry. The frontline carry will sit in Position 2 and the backline carry will sit in Position 4. Ideally focus your investments on your carries. Always focus on using your coins for levels. Skills are not so important. Equipment is not so important. Furniture is even less important. The most important thing in both PvP and PvE is raw stats. The most important thing in GvG is having 3 usable teams.

My opinion: Akdut. You start off the game with Fraise who you are forced to level for sake of story unlock. Then you roll for Choco and Vanilla. So now you have 2 front line and 1 backline, enough to build a solid team. But Fraise kinda sucks and she is the same element as Choco. Ideally you want a different element carry so you can progress in elemental towers later. Akdut fills that need.

Once your investments are well rounded, this will probably be your go-to team. Sakura is your backline carry. Sorbet is a buffer. All 3 front lines are strong carries.

Because you have two Sweet backlines, Muffin becomes your primary frontline carry as a Sweet unit so put her in P2. But again, keep in mind that element is NOT as important as levels. If you have disproportionate level investments due to RNG luck or you did something like max out Vanilla and Choco cause they have rate up banners, your carries now change to those

Souffle also works as a Sakura alternative. They are very similar in setup. Souffle is actually slightly better but I'm biased towards Sakura cause she's very very cute. So is Vanilla of course but I'm a meta slave

Given that you will want enough SSRs to build 3 elemental teams, I'd at least pull on standard til you can build those 3 elemental teams

Dupes are good but being gated out of an entire tower is pretty bad

In terms of sweatiness, if Eden gets off the ground in this game, I'll probably run it like how I did for Valkyrie Connect. Write up some cookie cutter team guides that everyone should invest in and have them run those for defence and attack. As long as the guide is followed and people keep active, we should easily rank high with low effort for the average player other than "do dailies and follow investment guide"
