If you only attack via retaining that's gonna lead to a lot of overkill situations, which is why by that point you start using some of the cards

Maybe randomizing for each shot was what led to that slow processing in the first place

Before the QoL, if you had more than one copy of that upgrade card active, then each retain would shoot that number of times before randomizing for the next retain
