max health is bad yes but if you have counterattack status it increases def-based damage, which includes counterattacks themselves

but that 2 cost free shield + counterattack stat has been very useful on magna for me

and for mika the controller 3* is great in chaos cuz she spends like 90% of her time not attacking for me, simply using heals

so it's free end of turn heal on top of that for the most part

I'm not saying the 3*s are the best thing in the game, but for being 3-star cards they're pretty damn good, better than un- or low-duped 4-stars by a decent amount
